Cheers bss, I can't see too many advantages with the flywheel due to the whole concept. But the linkages will be replaced, might sneak the short shift in too.

The footwells are fairly clean nothing deep just some surface, the fusebox seems clean too. However you are most likely right that rot lurks behind the pedal plate. Ah well, when in Rome!

if you change the clutch and leave the fly stock your bloody mad. Only improvementsto be had, low speed economy, in gear pick up. its all good.

You've probably got one of the better sports I've seen tbh
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Hmmm all things to consider guys, i will order the linkage parts at a later date along with the z3 shift (any chance if you have them bss you could pm me or post the bmw part numbers i need for all the linkage parts, im useless with the whole OEM stuff)

I think a wanted add for a machined m20 on here is a must, aslong as it just slips on where the existing stock wheel was, no fabricating :D .

Ok, so today the hubcentrics arrived... 10mm with lip, e30 fitting & the company even took my reg to double check...

They look great, well made, and the rest. Began to put them on and all went well until i noticed something was not 100% right, where the spacer fits over the hub their is a 3-4mm gap all around so the spacer is not touching the hub surface just sitting on the hub lip itself. Now my theory is this is due to the fact 10mm is the limit for a spacer with a lip and no more can possibly be machined out without it collapsing or being weak. But in my opinion and my dads this would be just as dangerous as when the bolts are tightened the stress will damage the spacers after a handfull of miles, the only way i can see of avoiding this is.... Cut a few mil of the hub lip itself so the spacers sits on correct, studying the hub and the spacer etc this will make no differance or cause danger to the car, just correct the spacers stance. Opinions??? :?

Here they are anyway, still impressed none the less... you can also see the few mil space from the hub surface to the spacer...

No way will they go flush against the hub just not possible without skimming 2-3mm of the hubs centre, the centre bore is not too small... Just comes to a stop, in the picture the spacer is sat as far on the hub as it will go, which is a good part of it, just stops at a few mill. If you study it makes sense that this is as far as it goes whilst it still has a lip :?

Sod it im not losing anything grinding 2mm of the centre of the hub aslong as i emery tape it and do a good job no one would ever know, no matter what wheel goes on their it will still always be a good inch on the hub centre  winkeye

This way i can have a lip on a 10mm spacer (not as common? 8)) and have a safer, smoootthherrr ride.

Well, things have been quiet ”˜ish’...

Had the new clutch fitted, everything is alot smoother and she goes straight into 1st & reverse without the placing in fourth malarkey, none the less it is still clunky and sometimes grinds in third. The new theory is that the master cylinder push rod is too small and off another model, thus not creating a 100% separation of the clutch from the box, but hey i will change this once my funds are up again.

Added some molyslip yesterday to the box (can only help things, worth the £5) and sprayed the rear speakers black to match everything else as they were a dull faded grey.

Wheel wise hubcentrics were fitted after some modification to the rear (don’t ask) and now she runs alot smoother and the days of constant tightening are over.

Tonight i had a photo session, something different! The fair is in town at the moment and as well as e30s my other ”˜odd’ hobby is fairgrounds, in particular waltzers. I lend a hand every year and have a hell of a knowledge when it comes to waltzers (sad i know) so i thought why not get a picture of the two most important things to me, the waltzer i love and the car i love. Below is the outcome.

That is looking sweet !!

(Svenga said "I think the rims are going eventually, split rims seem the way forward")

I'm not a lover of 6 spokes but (IMO) I think these are about the best I've ever seen, they really look stunning and suit the car,

:D

Not much change, been enjoying the greasy roads

Got some of this to wack in over the weekend can only work wonders from what i have been told (best do cost me enough  ) apparently many swear by this stuff including Jeremy Clarkson and some top F1 mechanics...

Image

Also recieved a 'mild' chip from our good friend Speedtouch yesterday, fitted in under 20 minutes and after following the instructions and running the chip in i must admit i noticed the change! the sport now feels... sportier?! 8O picks up speed very easily and pulls like a babe in 2nd & 3rd (and every gear for that matter)

I highly recommend the mild chip to any daily drivers in any 325i, well worth the low cost for the grins you get in return!
A female friend who is rather handy with a camera is gathering at Teeside park tomorrow evening with a line of friends and contacts who have been begging to have pictures taken of their pride & joys in various locations etc, i am tempted to pop along and let her snap a few of mine as she is rather good.
Just a few snaps i took again the other night whilst the opportunity arose.

Did not expect this....

I was never warned or told i had won, none the less a nice suprise after a long day at work.

Fitted the original boot badge which was molested with black paint, thinners cleaned it straight up. still undecided as i love the OEM look but still find a de-badged e30 as nice with the central bmw badge.

Image

Had a few running problems lately since the chip was fitted (nothing to do with speedtouch my car most likely, the chip is fantastic and has a noticeable improvement) i fitted the chip as per the instructions told. However since then i have noticed the car ”˜hunting’ ”˜purring’ on idle and is very rough on mornings & lumpy and on occasions died, after a short drive of perhaps ten miles or so and once warmed up when you come to a stop the car still hunts and idles incorrectly. Strangely this stops when a quick blip of the throttle is given and the revs settle. Maurice has informed me it could be a small number of things and i have yet to find small time to go through these areas to see (leaking intake manifold or split air intake pipes), this made me think slightly. Possibly it could be the airflow sensor? Mucky, dirty or faulty?. Tonight i have removed the filter box and sprayed the sensor thoroughly with electrical cleaner and with a soft brush cleaned it as much as possible. Started the car (although slightly warm) and the revs seemed settled, i am hoping after a drive tonight and the cold morning start before work tomorrow that this may of solved my small problem.

Svenga, car looks sensational. Nice to see a original looking Tech II, I really think these cars look tops just they way they left the factory (with a suspension, and wheels). Only thing I would change is putting the original Bosch smiley headlights on.
It's too bad I can't see some of the pictures in this thread (majority of them don't show) is that just my browser? I'm really curious to see what I'm missing out on in the other photos. I too own a delphin coupe and can't wait to be able to fit a OEM Mtech II kit to it.

PS - in case I missed it somewhere above, what wheels are those?

Also, just got the issue of Total BMW. Really neat opening it up and seeing your car there after being in this thread so much.
