i shouldnt really mention how much of the queens paper i parted with as zoners will sh!te the bed and your wives wont be happy...and it certainly wouldnt be enough paper to wipe with :P

the good all as mentioned, nice history and everything, really its the spares and parts i wnated for my is , concidering i was going to pay £80 for a load of head light ajusters for mine, and this has all good ones from a quick look, and also 2 really minty new looking head lights, its superb for my needs , i dont know weather to just totaly break and scrap it, or what ?

the bad- well it needs a really good clean and clay bar , cple rusty browney scabs on the roof only small, and the sills look worse for wear , and this...

although a good dent man will easily sort this, its not "sharp" more just pushed in , wings fine, its the door and rear quarter, also the tow bit area on rear valance is a bit rusty, not had a real inspection of it all yet, inside rear floor pans etc look real nice

Image

but the price i paid is supendous :D an opportunity i couldnt miss, to put on road, just a good service and renew some hoses etc on the engine , and i think with a bit of luck it would pass and mot , if that side could be sorted out it would be an "ok" daily beater is

il get my is along side it tomorrow and have a good look all around it and try n decide what to do with it , its got tax till end of month and a month mot on it

Whats a decent IS (with FSH and 12mth ticket) worth? £2500? more?

Spend a couple of hundred on bits, give it a good clean and attend to the rust.....

I'd save this one, if only for the profit. Good buy!

Knowing what the car was advertised at i don't blame you for snapping this up. Still not as cheap as my white iS was :P

If i weren't skint i'd have travelled half the length of the country for this, spend a bit getting it tidy and get it sold on, far too good to break!

Are you sure you didn't get it at such a good price because the previous owner knows something you don't? How bad is the rust in the roof?

I do like an E30 in white though.

well....i didnt pay what it was advertised for either !

got nothing to hide... he wanted £250 , i went with 250 in my wallet and a back up tenner to get me home, he even drove !!!! so i had no journey fuel cost, i was hoping to get it for 240 say and say "10 fuel tog et me home" , but it had over half a tank (£25?)

i came home...it still has half a tank it it now, and £110 in my wallet still....£150 for a bmw !!!...cant fault it

4 bbs with caps and 2 new kumho tyres are worth that- i needed some tyres anyway, and the ajusters its got i needed too for the lights are £10 a throw ,is lip is £70 worth, im delighted

so im happy

not had a good look for rot etc but...that side sorting out and a good clay bar and in deth scrub and clean, little bit of sill and rear valance welding...and its a nice enough is ,120k with fulll extensive history, is nice

i agree a shame maybe to break it, i might get some quotes to fix her up and see , might be a shame to break it, all depends on that side really

Absolute bargain!! I'd stick it in for an MOT and see what it needs before doing anything else.

Still got mine cheaper :P

il put pics up tomorrow, i didnt buy it to keep and drive, ive bought it for spares, £150 !!! for all whats listed in the 1st post there ,its a whole car of spares , save me a lot of aggro wth spares down the line as il have them a plenty

ive got a set of wheels i needed tyres for, so 2 new kumhos- just ned to buy 2 more new ones anmd thats a nice set

and all the spares ,its a no brainer regardless if after a dig if its the worst rotted is around, look at it..fault thyat for £150 with whats on it.,...even if it didnt drive it would be worth it, but it drives and drives fine and suspension etc is all fine

chris il pop it round thursday on way to work if i dont forget ! - or if your comming past this way form work ,pop round and have abutchers over this is ? (would be handy to have agood opinion)

its not a kepper dan for me dan but im gonna have a good inspection of it tomorrow, and ponder what to do, absolote steal for £150

i already had a bits to get list of - a set of tyres for my refurbed wheels, head light ajusters,a rocker and inlet to get refurbed, door moulding strips, the gutter trim, and its got 2 near new kumhos on it and all them other bits

from the quick look (last mot was a clean pass with just 1 advisory for a tyre-and its had 2 new ones on it) drove, breaked, steered, handled, perfectly fine, nice and straight and all good, electric windows and mirrors worked, il check if all the lights and indicators etc all work and all interior bits, a service and i think it might even pass an mot, the rubber boot inlet had a all way through split in it and if bent engine died, and generally the bay was very grubby and hoses etc not that great, and it still drove nice, no iffy noises, the diff i think is also sweet -again another thing thats handy as mines leaky and a whine

exterior- just that dent to back part of the door and rear quater, although my mate can do small dents not sure about big but hes a sprayer by trade and small body repairs, il see if he can sort that dent or at least make it half decent / or if he cant but reckons a proper dent wizard could sort it for not too much, if that can be sorted and doesnt need paint there, then its just the sills need some welding and the rear valance, and its not a bad is, but it needs a proper good clean and scrub and clay bar to really be able to see what the paintwork is like

120k and full history if that dent/sills/valance was sorted and a good service with mot if nothing major and if the paint was ok and its solid underneath, then its not a bad is for the money/nice profit to be made, to put towards a sport/6 pot, even maybe sling it in as px for a sport seller to still keep an e30 runabout, so need to have a good clean up, a good look round it, get the body man to have a look and my mot mechanic mate to give it a good look over, and weigh up approx fix on the road cost and the end value if i did

but then on the flip side- if theres hidden rot and major mot fails and the roofs too bad- /or/then ... all the parts are very handy for me, a whole is in parts for £150 !! , to sell what i really wouldnt need id get my money back with ease like the bonnet/door/boot/sunroof panel/bumpers , have a set of bbs with caps , things like a nice rear bench- and when i ever sold my is i could take the rear bench with head rests out, and put that in to make standard and sell that for extra cash, have a complete interior as spares for the future, all the lights, indicators, side repeaters, carpet, boot carpets, all the boot extras ,grill and trim, is lip, air intake bits, fog covers, all the plastic arch liners, nice wings, all glass, seals, all the running gear, engine and gear box, ecu, all the door locks and central locking parts, ecu,it had new power flex or whatever they are called, bushes on it not long ago, il see what the suspension, running gear, breaks and discs etc are like ,exhaust prob worth £80/100 or something as it looked quite new, if its a bmw one il maybe put that on mine, and all the other morsels and spares galore - which as an is owner, is unreal for £150 and in the long run will save me a fortune if i just hoarded it all up

gonna go through the history and reciepts and see whats been put on the car when and get an idea of the running parts that are on the car and what new recent bits etc, and get my car next to it and see what can be swapped over with mine to improve my car

just need a good look and clean up, then a good think and weigh it all up, its fix up and sell for £1500 potential - depends on that side if it can be done reaonably and the paint all round, sill and valance welding i can get done easy enough - depending how bad it is, and its then just stone chip and rattle cans to make look alright

an option would be to fix it up, mot it , sell both of my is`s and buy a tech 1 sport/6 pot , or sell my black one and use this while i found a sport as it is

maybe like mentioned above -give it a good clean up and just wack it in for £40 for an mot and see what happens , before i do anything else ?

il report back tomorrow with full findings

had a good look today- the "jacking points" are a bit flakey and some rot there butto be expected, and the roof - cple light surface rusty scab type bits, 1 of them theres a small hole and if pushed hard enough would go through, sills are quite bad

so gonna just break it i think, its not worth the ££,time, effort, to try and save it

had a body/paint mate come look at it today , its a shame to break it really, if i were to be looking at fixing it up to keep it as my car, then sorting the dent, sills, roof,re spray the whole car, it would be nice , its just not worth doing it to sell it on to make money or sorting that ding to just paint 1 side, so shes definatly being broke

its a shame- he said the dent isnt too bad really, the front wing on that side is fairly recently painted too, said the dent can be pulled and sorted and the door no problem but will need paint

the roof- whole roof would need to be re painted really, 1 sill is ok, other side a few cut out bits and some plating and re stone chip and fine, rear valance bit just a section needs cut out and plated , he said to just do the bits, it wont match in with rest of the paint too well and stand out, being white and faded panels, floor pans, underneath, inner arches under door cards are lovely and original, scuttle and the pillars/bottom of the windscreen corners that usualy go, are all nice, and in general its solid

to fix and keep it spend a grand say, youd have £1150 is that looked lovely, then you have to think mot it and what needs doing for that, etc etc, for a keeper-well worth it , to re sell / weighed up against the fact spending to sell it, against £150 for all the parts to keep, sell a few, it makes much more sense to just do that and no need to spend out or have any hasstle

its a real shame tho, concidering 120k with full lovely history etc , although that paperwork still be good for the engine

hahahha :D :D :P

looking through the history, the wishbones are quite new and a fair few other parts not old, going to refurb all them sort of bits and swap them over with mine somewhen

just painted up the gutter trim looks sweet, gonna turn out quite niceley in terms of parts for my car to further improve it
