As some of you may remember i was going to rebuild my 2.7 lump from the ground up and put it in my cab. After alot of thinking and a bit of persuading ive decided just to put a standard 2.5i back in. javascript:emoticon('')
Mad

Im gona spend the rest of the dosh on getting it ready for a bit of cruising, as ive not actualy had it long enough to enjoy it yet.A nice set of wheels, some quality speakers and then maybe just to finish of the look for winter a weismann hardtop.

Can anyone recomend from previous experience where to buy a solid recon 2.5 lump as dont want to buy a lemon and dont have masses of mechanical knowledge.

Cheers for the help

i know what your saying jhonno it looks like i might have to rebuild it with the luck im having getting hold of a 2.5 someones willing to put more than 4 weeks warranty on.

My mechanic will give me 1 year or 12k whatever comes first and thats with tunning it aswell. If i have to i'll be sticking a 272 cam, lighten the flywheel and have it rolling road setup.

My engines got bore wear Andy

Ah! My old engine had bore wear lol

Used to have to top up the oil on a regular basis lol

I know engine rebuilds aren't cheap but if you can afford it at least you know you have a good engine that *shouldn't* let you down

In more than the odd circumstance I have had promises that, whatever, is in A1 condition and surprise surprise it turns out to be a bag of s*it. then I have to fork out again to put it right, costing me double what it would of new in the first place.

Sorry for going on, but it just really pee's me off with all the ass*holes out there selling s*it.

yeah i know what you mean, im gona buy shares in shell the way this thing is going. I dont actually use it now just cause of the shear danger to other road users from the smell and smoke it makes lol.

I was told all this car needed was driving which seemed to be the case when i brought it!! F**king hate it when that happens.

How reliable are these 2.7 conversions when done properly as ive only had good things to say about my last 2.5sport and that had 120k on it.
