Does anyone know if its still possible to get sunroof seals? Mine has well and truly had it and needs replacing.
Also, how much are they roughly?

Im hoping that replacing the seal and greasing the sunroof up a bit will let it work of its own accord and not need a helping hand and a spare half hour!

This is BMW, not some French cr*p. Virtually everything is still available for the E30, and part for similar part, I would expect it to be a fraction of the Renault price.Steviec wrote:Thanks, at least its still available. The sunroof isn't supposed to be totaly waterproof. There's a drainage system underneath which is supposed to remove the water. The drain channel cross pieces of the sunroof lining tend to rot off at the ends and drip water into the car.
Do a forum search, and see how to dismantle the sunroof. All very easy when you know how. No problems with timing or synchronisation when you put it back together.

Just been intouch with BMW (the phone didnt even ring once before being answered!) and the seal is going to cost me Ԛ£37 + Vat and the good thing is, they are open till 6pm, which gives me plenty of time to get down there after work.

Make sure you get the updated single piece seal !, the originals are 2 piece and cost more.
It's easier to fit the single piece one too
Cheers,

ETK lists three different part numbers for sunroof seals; quantity: 1 of each.
54 12 1 903 725 length = 2580
54 12 8 106 928 length = 930
54 12 1 906 999 length = 1650
No up to or from dates mentioned.
Two sunroof panels in my workshop at the moment both have seals made up of the second and third parts above. Definitely no sign of a 2580mm seal, and there's nothing in the roof apeture that could be called a seal that I can think of without actually checking.
Looks like Templ8e30 may be right!

This is the bit you need 54 12 1 903 725 length = 2580
The other two part numbers are the original 2 piece seal
54 12 8 106 928 length = 930
54 12 1 906 999 length = 1650
930+1650 =2580
Cheers,
Iain T

Well ive phoned BMW and should now have the wright part on order, only snag is, I wont have it for saturday now, have to wait till tuesday.
On the plus side, the one piece seal is only about Ԛ£2 dearer than just the rear part of the 2 peice seal.
