Just had a quick look at my engine, pretty sure it goes into the bottom of the inlet manifold

Around where number 13 is. I can have a proper look tomorrow when it's light and check 100%

What if there is nothing to connect it to under the inlet as shown(that area is blanked off, but I still have that pipe) ?

Ok I see, so my number 10 hose(as above ) which has been blocked off does have a home, just not between those to stud,s. I,ll have another look in a minute, Could,nt see anything to connect it to on the intake though,
many thanks for your help Zaust.

Thanks for the picture mate, I see exactly what you mean now..... one thing which trouble,s me a bit is my intake is a little bit different to your one. The spot where that hose comes off on the top left is a threaded stud on mine and the one next door( the exposed nipple ) hope i,m looking at the right part had to use camera upside down in engine bay .I,ll wondering if it,s just a different type of intake!!!!!!!!

I think I was looking at it wrong, going to look at it again in a moment. I saw a photo on you tube and that hose (number 10 )goes to some care of charcoal canister with the m30 in a 5 series, I know the canister is not transferred to the e30 but It made me wonder I,ll stick to the intake as you showed me today.
Thanks again Zaust.
