That looks very nice. So much style for peanuts. I remember my when my uncle had a dark green 316i coupe pretty new at that time. Very classy.

Very swish looking car for the money, and I also like the interior.

Thought I'd have a quick look for something a bit more modern as a daily driver... Then did some insurance quotes... Think i'll stick to E30's.
I cant justify paying over £1000 a year for a car... I cant justify paying over £250 a year either to be honest. Aha

I like the interior too, those matching colours look good! I also like the green E36 convertibles with green roof and green leather, look great to me, but sell for less because they are "unlucky"
Never understood green being unlucky, as its the colour that makes a land rich and fertile. Bet its lucky in Saudi Arabia!
Keep it..car looks great for that money.

E36's are cheap as chips at the moment, a lot of car for little money in some cases cheaper than a e30 good luck
They don't make bm's like this anymore!..They should.

Nice looking chariot. I ran a practically identical car for 85K and it was the most reliable motor I've ever had. Morea Green is a nice colour IMO. I don't know if something is up with the lighting on that interior shot but Morea Green cars normally have a light silver/grey interior thats quite pleasant when clean (they can get filthy if they're not well looked after).
Have you seen it yet? Make sure it heats up as it should and no misfires etc - that mileage is absolutely ripe for a M43 head gasket (they typically go at around 95-100K - a friend of mine who worked at a BMW dealer reckoned they used to do nearly 10 of these a week at that mileage a few years back!).

Apologies dude! It sounds well looked after so hopefully it will be fine - just something to be aware of. Mine let go at 95K but was an easy fix. BMW in their infinite wisdom didn't fit them with a coolant level sensor...jaymos wrote:darkchild wrote:Nice looking chariot. Mine went shortly after it developed a misfire at start up and the temperature gauge would sit well under half way.
Head gasket drama and crank end float our the M43's only real problems. Bulletproof otherwise.

Mine went spectacularly in a big cloud of steam at my work's car park (providing much amusement to my work colleagues!). I had the head skimmed, got new gaskets from BMW and a couple of other parts (can't remember how much) and put it back together myself - its a nice engine to work on.

Do you reckon it would be worth just getting it done? If it already hasnt been done that is.darkchild wrote:Mine went spectacularly in a big cloud of steam at my work's car park (providing much amusement to my work colleagues!). Its at the mileage when most need one. Check through the service history - he may have already forked out for it!

Thats a smart looking car for no money at all.
Another +1 here to keep the interior as is.
My E36 touring was Morea green and it looks stunning when polished up.
Nice buy mate

Very nice for the monies. As for the head gasket i am sure it's one of the easiest ones to be doing on a BMW?
My E36 has the m42 in it and that's on the same mileage. Wonder if it's nearing the time?

Its the M43's only real weakness and I'm sure if BMW had fitted a coolant level sensor it would be less of a concern. Even Ant (A-Tech) told me he used to fix a few of these weekly around the 100K mark when he worked for a main dealer.

The coolant elbow at the front of the head snapped on mine at about 110k, thankfully the car was stopped straight away before it cooked itself. Doesn't take much of a leak over time to make the level drop enough to cause and airlock or overheating.
cheers,

Well went to look at the car and all I can say is that im well happy, the bodywork is mint and the interior is like new, had a good drive of it and it drove like a dream, heated up nicely and stayed dead centre.
The guy who im getting it from works at the dealers where the car was originally sold in 1995, it was traded in and he bought it for his mum after getting it checked over at the garage, he said the overall condition of the car is the reason he bought it and I dont blame him.
He is selling because his mum doesnt use it at all and that he would rather someone get the use out of it as he didnt want it just rotting away on her drive.
Hes even gonna check the database in work and print out all the info he can find on the car for me.
