So i have just been offered a turbo off an evo III, £50.00 there is nothing wrong with it at all and it was only removed to put a bigger one in its place.
Could this be the turbo for my 325i convertion.

Turbo = TD05H—a16G6-7
Nozzle Area (cm2) = 7
Turbine = Inconel (steel alloy)
Compressor = Aluminium, 68mm wide
550cfms@15PSI of boost
I think ?

in addition to this wether its good or bad, can someone tell me what the compression ration of my engine is/should be M20b25 manufactured november 1986.
The reason i ask is because i think i remember reading that there were two variants of the m20b25.

Thanks for the info guys.
So i am pressuiming i am going to be able to achieve a good enough compression ratio by adding mls head gasket.
Could still do with a turbo guru to identify whether or not this turbs will be suitable as i have read a number of conflicting arguments across the various bmw sites.

It´ll be good for something like 300hp or around that,
more details about the compressor inducer and turbine exducer will explain further.

Exducer 68mm
Turbine Inducer 56mm,
Exducer 49mm
As i would like to know wether it worth bothering with or wether its worth buying to ebay and then pu the funds towards something better.

That turbo will produce 280 -300 hp quite nicely. You will sit a bit to left of peak compressor efficiency at peak power air flow. It should work, a nice find.
If you are able to run past 1 bar of boost more should be possible as there is spare capacity in that turbo at the flow rate Gunni suggested.

I am relativley new on the e30 scene and would really like to discuss a turbo conversion in detail so if anyone wants to share there knowledge one evening i would be more than happy to give you a call and discuss the whys and wherefores, if only to create a project style picture in my own mind.
