The battery has run down on a E46 key. Can I unlock it with the key and charge it in the ignition without the alarm going off?

Need a new key i am afraid , cant replace the battery , did you try recoding it ?

Nothing wrong with battery, as left the buttons were pressed in my bag and run down the battery.

Sorted now alarm disengaged and started when key turned the ignition on.
