Well, I just got a letter from the DVLA saying my tax is up at the end of the month for it which makes me think, is it worth keeping it anymore?

I havent used it for a couple of month now and its just sitting about, I move it around when I need the space its in etc but its doing nothing other than costing me to insure it etc.

Now alot of you know the problems I had which I sorted with a new engine & loads of time off work while it wasnt working etc etc.

Do I sell it? Do I frag it? I'm unsure, ideally I want the most I can get for it but not sure what the best route to go is to be honest. Anyone recommend owt? What kinda figure do you get for fragging something in good condition? What sort of price could I expect to see for it as a whole?

It still needs attention in places so the selling as a whole idea isnt one I favour as I dont want people to turn up then walk away because there is an issue somewhere. :(

Currently I keep getting a grinding kinda noise coming from the rear every so often in no pattern of timing at all, but when stopping suddenly it clears it, so I am assuming something is stuck under the caliper, had one side off but couldnt find anything so need to check the other side over...

Would it be worth getting these bits sorted then selling it whole?

Any advise is good right now as its pointless me keeping it to be honest.

fraggin it whole, well its about £150 a ton at the moment, a scrapyard may give you abit more but not much more. u maybe able to make money stripping it and them fraggin it, jut makes it more difficult to get it to the weighbridge after tho, or loose cash using a middle man.

if its diamond black and front wings are in good condition , strip it and sell the wings to me :)
Personally i would no way dream of ever getting rid of a running e30 for £150 ^

You could sell it in bits for loads more.

good luck with what ever you decide and hoe you get the most out of it .

Well history wise, its got a wad of paper work, but no actual service history with it unfortunately. :(

Done around 118000 miles, but recently changed the engine for one from Kedge that had done around 127000 miles, since then I did about 500 on that.

Had a full service on it though when did the engine so new cambelt etc etc

Bodywork, its in good condition and no real rot anywhere but the actual sunroof panel which is buggered on the inside.

On the rear there is a slight crack as you can see in the picture down below.

Thanks dude, what sort of price do you think I can get? In total/ish...

Weighing in at the end of it shouldnt be a problem, there is a metal yard at the end of my road.

I broke a touring a few months back and I got fed up with penniless losers offering cock all !!

I'd sell it spares or repairs and give someone a chance to either rescue it or use it for a donor car.

It would be a shame to frag it, I've seen alot worse being driven around.
If its a driver then sell it as spares or repairs, give someone else a tidy project to get on with.
What engine does it have?

I would have a really good look round it. Right out a mega honest advert and pm it to Mick (magpie).

He knows what most of these turds are worth in bits, also buys frag. Think carefully about what you need or want for it and wait for his reply. Then at least you'll have a honest valuation that's relevant in today's market.

Only my 2p though. 8)

Thanks fellas. All very helpful info. And thanks for the pm's with info.

The headlight washer kit has come off it already and gone onto my chromie so it would be minus that.

Its a 325i Auto for those who are interested.

I'm gonna have a word with my old man and see if he wants it or not at a dad discount offer :?

He asked before but I was using it for work at the time etc. I'll have a mooch over it at the weekend and see exactly where any issues are if any and think about selling it whole. If anyone is interested in it then I will be extremely truthful about anything asked and give all the info I know as I hate buying cars and finding out it has issues that were covered up etc.

Insurance is bob all to be honest. 16 quid a month so its no issue, need to sorn it though at the end of the month. So it doesnt really cost me much, but I dont want it to just sit there like my cab for the last year doing nothing at all.

I lost heart with it after needing to replace the engine and just have no more motivation for it. Just about to speak to my old man to see whether he is interested or not...

Ok, the father isn't wanting it as he is after another beetle at the moment so, I shall be checking her over at the weekend and getting her cleaned up too.

Ok, so if I get it running as it should be with no rear noise, do you think 800 quid is a reasonable price?

MOT til december.

Or would it be higher/lower? Sorry for the questions and the usual answer is do some research, I did and 800 seems reasonable...

Thats not such a good price... Doubt i'd get it on Ebay to be honest, just on here or something and wait for the price i'm asking for as its a fair price.

I quite fancy a 325i chromie in auto though and it would replace the touring quite nicely... Or an Alpina...

@Jonny - Is it yours pal? Send me some info and pictures :D

@threelander - Sounds like something is stuck behind a caliper is all, I stopped using it as I couldnt be bothered to look at it one night after work and starting using my chromie instead, just havent really had a chance since to try and sort it out...

Like I said before, I just lost heart with it now.:(

Hmmm, tempting to be honest. I'm going alton towers tomorrow too which isnt assuming isnt far from you.

There is also a 2002 shell sitting in one of the barns next door to us where I go shooting at night, waiting on a reply from the owner for a price though as he's had it for sometime and been trying to source an engine but with no luck...

I've seen this car and body work wise it is very solid and clean, would be a shame to frag if its only the brakes that need doing, you could get all the parts dirt cheap off here
