My tubular manifolds go into a 2 into 1 collector with a 2.5" or 3", can't remember which bore. The previous owner had a single pipe all the way to the back. After some thought, right now I think I am going with a side exit on the drivers side but will decide closer to the time

I went to prospeed custom exhausts in cardiff.

I had 2 downpipes into a Y piece - 2.5' pipe - small middlebox - 2.5' pipe - backbox with 2 tail pipes.

I do feel having a custom jobby is the way forward although a standard exhaust will do the job! 2.5' seems to be the best for gains providing its nicely made and free flowing

Yeah mate, I drove it there with just manifolds and downpipes, it was bloody loud but awsome 10 mile journey haha

I payed £400 for manifold back system, this included grinding away the shit mig welds where the person I had them from mig'd the back manifold! So he ground them away and re welded them with nice fat tig's and reamed out the ports slightly, then did the whole system for the above price. Its not to loud (reason for middle box) but when the revs build she really sings

I'm using a Scorpion M3 system, twin 50mm pipes all the way through.

I used a 320 system (unknowlingly) when I first fitted the touring up with the M52. Difficult to tell the difference being down to the exhaust as the chromie is a good deal lighter than the touring. (Chromie is 1/2 a second quicker down the 1/4mile)

e30LAD how much did you pay for that scorpion system? will i be able to find one or are they hens teeth?

The M3 scorpion systems do come up fairly often.

I only paid £150 for mine, but I was lucky. Usually around the £250 mark should see you right

If thats the case you will need to be good with a welder and even better at buying second hand parts

The guy who welded them di it at work on an industrial polisher thing.Not so shiny anymore,more a nice shade of Blue/Gold
Not cut back on the rear manifold but clearence is tight.
Upper steering coupling has been `trimmed` slightly and 10mm spacer on the drivers side engine mount.
There is about 10mm clearence between the manifold and coupling.

Just out of interest, was this the guy that is in exeter? Was he looking at making these up for others?

If the rubber steering coupling was removed would that give you a bit more clearance? Are you using e36 rack?

Yes guy in Exeter made them.
Im using like most 2 x E34 couplings with Danthe splined shaft and yes E36 rack.
