8" 3 way on the rear shelf

Have any of you managed to fit 8" 3 way speakers on the rear shelf?

i tried about 3 weeks ago, they wont fit, the largest you can fit is 6.5's

Was it the magnets that hit the metal? If thinking of using mdf spacer rings so the shelf would sit a little higher therefore allowing extra mounting depth

yes magnets hit the metal even with spacers it still did it
