Whats the best thing to do. I have my E30 and an E46 compact i dont really want to get rid of the E46 at the moment but was wondering what you guys would do on the insurance front as i would like to drive them both (not at the same time of course). How would you go about insuring them?

Your comments would be good.

Cheers

if it was just a short term measure you could have 2 vehicles on the same policy, but if a more permanent arrangement is needed you will either need separate policies or some brokers may be able to arrange a single policy but I think it is quite rare these days

I have 2 E30 convertibles and a Polo and i ensure all of them with different people. The Rieger with HIC (Agreed Value), the flip cab with Adrian Flux (They give good rates with modded cars) and the Polo with Express insurance.

If you insure one and not the other, then you have the problem of what to do were it to be stolen. You be buggered.

Yeah the E30 needs some work and will be going in the garage to sort an oil leak. So i will use the other one like i am currently doing. But then i want to use the E30 as ive had it a few months now and have really only drove it back from Northampton i want to get into it.

I will eventually sell my E46 and just use the E30 but i am in two minds at the moment!!!

could you not get a trader's policy?

I'm sure they offer cover for "enthusiasts" too-as long as the cars are taxed and MOt'd

if you have plenty of NCB and are over 25-its gotta be worth a shot!

I had the same problem when my M3 broke down.
I bought an e30 316 for a runner and wated to have both insured (Never know the robbers might have got the M running where I couldn't  ).

I was paying Ԛ£600 fully comp for my M3 and they wanted Ԛ£800 for the 316 cause all my no claims bonuses didn't count on the second car.

I have heard that the best way around it is to go see a proper insurance broker and get them to work it out for you to have both on 1 policy.
