Sadly my Glacier Green E39 525tds has developed expensive donk problems.
Collected a new executive/family wagon yesterday.
530i Sport Auto in lovely Topaz.
It certainly sounds like e39 is the new e30 as a few zoners make the upgrade due to overactive trousers resulting in tiddlers.
Please so far, love the colour.

A reasonable 90k Simon.
Professor owned so in good order.
I also have three Cbeebies tiddlers, there will be no food & drink in this one.

I enquired about this one
Made a reasonable offer and the trader declined.
It was up for 3595.
E39's are awesome looking cars and alot of e30's heads do appreciate them.I would love an 540i or m5. Next on the list me thinks.
Good buy, hows it drive

Thanks gents I am well pleased with it.
Drives lovely, nice pick up for a heavy car.
As noted above. You can get one hell of an E39 for the price some people want for there E30 turd.

Hi Andy, I understood from a little birdy you were in the club also.
Are we becoming more executive us old school zoners?.
You still got the old cab, mine is being pampered out of hibernation as we speak by my main man.

What sort of MPG is one of these likely to do under normal conditions ?
I'd love one of these but am used to 40+mpg diesels so I'm guessing a 3.0 petrol donk with an Auto box might sting a bit

30mpg
I was getting about 3mpg out of e39 525tds diesel as it was pissing diesel everywhere.
Injector pump has failed and infected the alternator below.
Stay away from the M51

30mpg ??? Seriously ?? I only used to get 30mpg out of my E36 323i Touring by driving like a saint - would have thought mid-20's at best for one of these

Fuel consumption (urban) 18.2 mpg
Fuel consumption (extra urban) 35.8 mpg
Fuel consumption (combined) 26.4 mpg
Are the figures. Need to be steady with the right foot and not tempted.

I do 50 miles a day, 40 of which is motorway ( although its through the crappiest part of the M6 so not always moving very quickly

) sounds like 30ish might be do able.
Have to do some man-maths to see how I can justify it

Gaz,
Seen your post as I logged on, your car looks mint! Ive got one myself, its the 530i sport Champagne edition, I love the E39's and this particular model is cracking. Funny how you say the E30 appeals to E39 owners, I bought an E30 cab last year and am a couple of weeks away from getting her back on the road after 7 months of restoration. Dont want to burst your bubble but you wont get near 30 MPG unless your doing serious motorway driving at 56MPH. I do a round trip of 42 miles a day about 35 on the motorway and with very gentle driving i was getting 26 and when just driving about town i was getting 19 MPG!!!!!!!
Enjoy it mate

Nice looking car, always fancied a 530 facelifted E39 - local Indy says they're the best of the range!
Anyhoo - got 3 kids meself (8 years and younger) and was wondering if the rear centre seatbelt is still a lapbelt in this?
Previously owned loads of old E30s, E34s, a few E36s, E32s, E39s and an E38.
Currently in a diesel Audi - miss me old E30's....

There are 3 x 3 point seatbelts in the rear of these. This is why I upgraded from my E36 to the E39.
My MPG gauge is showing 17MPG, all about town driving. Can get it upto 30 on a run. We only do about 3000miles a year luckily!

Thanks a lot for the update Simon, it's a fist without the 3x3 seatbelts with 3 kids and in my current E36 (and previous E34s and E30s!) so this is a bonus and save using the wife's Pug 307 - the facelift E39 530 is next on my never ending list!
I'm sure the 530 will get mid 30's on a run like my old E34 530 V8 used to?

I bought mine from Norfolk, I reset it before leaving and it averaged 34mpg on the journey back.
That soon dropped once I got off the motorway though..

Very nice looking car Gaz, they are extremely capable cars and great mile munchers.
I loved my touring but unfortunately as my kids have got bigger they have needed more space.
Mark.

Which would you prefer M Parallel's or Rondell's?.
Started to swap mudflaps over as well.

Think it needs lowering for the Rondells to work.
