no problem. if money is a bit tight, theres no reason why you cant just get the Werkstat Acrylic Kit, which comes with the Primer, Sealant and Quick detailer, along with the MF cloths for each step.

£59, free p&p and will last you years to come

IMO, i would use the demonshine for clay baring only rather than on top of your wax. Ive got some spare in the garage for exactly this if I run out of poorboys stuff. Im not actually sure whats in the demon shine stuff - the QD in the werkstat kit is matched to the wax/sealant and adds extra protection each time.

as youve said, a quick check over the car for any bird crap or water marks is a good idea but be careful not to rub any dirt into the car otherwise a correctional polish is on the cards.

Maybe worth rubbing the tops of the wings down with wet and dry (slightly and lots and lots of water), basically a wet sand and then G3, polish, wax etc, should lift the very top coat of lacquer. Only do this if there is enough lacquer left underneath, if its very thin at those points, i would get it re-lacquered provided the paint is in good shape, won't cost much or DIY.

Hopefully by the end of the summer i will have my new rotary, and my mix of polishes, sealants and wax. Just evaluating what i have used in the past and what my budget will stretch to. Probably use megs polish and swirlX, CG Wet Ultra Mirror Shine, and maybe CG Pete's Paste '53 wax, or i will go down the zymol route again, get their paint cleaner and probably Ebony Glaze, just expensive stuff and time consuming to apply.

I use Menzerna polishes - and they are impressive to say the least, especially at the price. I also have a data sheet for their range

moneys not a problem or tight, its just whats reasonable to spend...£250 on products is a lot, although it would last a long time, if it was a mint sport or m3 with absoloutrly mint paint then it would be deemed worthy

dont ever rub dirt in...always hose it off, i use 1st the hose like normal, then put the hose ina watering can, and water the car like that to get a running flow and a more gentle run of water

this is where i need a pro opinion really and someone whoc an do such a thing, really the re painted wing/both wings would benefit from a proepr bit of care as in the ..lets make these best we can without paint, sort of process, im sure the right work they can be made better, although i dont want to try wet/dry myself and mess it up,as im not 100% on all that

take to a body shop/painter (which i have done) its £££ in the eyes...."yes needs re painting £150 a wing" sort of thing, and wind up wanting to talk you in to a full re spray ££££

i could take a look towards the end of the summer once i have all my new kit if you want, just keep it waxed and protected and it shouldn't get much, if any, worse.

Just pricing up new equipment for my mobile valeting and detailing business as i write, doesn't look like i can afford it. Its only a part time business which is on hold at the moment, pending funding to get my new kit.

ok mate il keep it in mind..which that may be the case, it wont get worse, its not "bad" or anything, just average for a car that age stand 5 feet away looks fine...only when really looking/paint inspecting

how much roughly would it cost to set up a mobile valeting business?? ...its somethign i was thinking about myself, although not expirienced as such but i gather there are courses you can pay to attend and learn ?...i can clean/hoover,polish, make an interior spotless, and also clean, polish, wax, exteriors, and learning about detailing, im self employed and work sort of 9pm-3am hours,i have a discovery, and also the spare time, so been looking for somethign to do in the day really, part time sort of thing as and when, and thought that could be a a way to go, someone i know used to do it and think hes still got some/all of the gear, was thinking about asking him, set myself up with the equipment and get on it and try get a few regular customers and even or 4 cars a week would do ,or local people...bring car round and il clean, polish, wax it, and do interior etc out the back of here , but is it mainly richer types that go for such things ?

Full time, Van is about £15k, equipment, stock, products about another £2-3k, plus marketing, working capital. Finding clients. I had funding in place last year for 4 mobile vans and a working depot, gutted i didn't take it.

I am just looking into a franchise to work part time, its a waterless one, but the products and results are the best i have seen, and the outlay is peanuts compared to most. Put it this way, i can cover my first years franchise fees by cleaning 30 cars in my first year and 50 per year after that, everything else is profit/ buying more stock.

Its waterless cleaning, but can offer additional waxing etc ontop, looking at £10 per average car (Focus size) for the wash, another £5 for wax ontop. which is pretty cheap, takes about 20mins to wash and about 10-15 for wax. Ok its not the as good as a detail but the results are as good as any hand car wash or machine wash i have seen, and it doesn't scratch the paint which is the main thing. In the time it takes a normal person to wash and dry a car, i can waterless wash and also wax it (approx 30mins), inc alloys, glass, plastics etc.
