Hi guys, my m20 2.5 has 2.5/2.7 stamped on it, where my mates just has 2.5? What's the difference? Thanks

The late eta engines(post'85,I think)are known as 'super eta's' and used the same 885 head casting as 325i.

We only saw E28 525e in the UK,and very few,if any,of these super eta's came here.Most found their way to the USA in the form of 325e.

But all post '85ish 325i heads will be marked 2.5/2.7

Super eta in the 5 series are the 528e

The 528e before march 1987 was a normal eta (with a 200head) with 9:1 CR. Post march 1987 528e became "super eta's" with an extra 6 hp using the 885 head with a 4 bearing cam. These have a CR of 8.5:1 I believe.
