Me too, my M3 is totally standard engine/induction/exhaust, but like Andrew I'd like to go faster, but don't really care about a bunch of numbers!

Ok, i'll re-phrase it, how many people aren't bothered about how fast their car goes. I'm much more concerned about having a smooth ride that looks good. I can comfortably break the speed limit in standard form, that's good enough for me.

I'm keeping mine standard, no point doing anything to a 320, nearly had it 2 years, so probably get a 325 next year.

Mine is completely standard too and have no plans to change it. I am not too bothered about how fast it goes, just like having fun with some drivers and look forward to the twisty bits.

Would I ever do engine mods? If I had about Ԛ£5K to spend and not miss it, then I probably would bearing in mind the extra cost of insurance etc.

i've got an m20b20 as stock as the day it left (apart from a 1 1/2 tailpipe backbox  )

and find it more than adequate for everyday skooting about-fast enough, lovely sound and 32-35 on a run if i'm careful

I know what you're saying dude, the BMW package out of the factory was pretty phenomenal-handling for a 16yr old car is amazing in stock form.

part of me wants to get it concours, and leave it like that. part says LPG it and a 3.25 diff and part says , sod it 2.7 and go drift...

hmmm

lack of cash make first one the preferred choice!

My Sport was standard before I started the conversion. I will be rebuilding the M20 and keeping it standard and it will stay that way when I decide to put it back in the Sport.

I like to be a little bit different with my cars, but it wouldn't bother me to keep my Touring standard. Most of what I'd like to do will probably never get done and I don't have a problem with that.
It's taken me a year to get 'round to doing the 325i TB mod!
Big power numbers don't fascinate(sp?) me, I like the Rolls Royce philosophy - "Adequate".
I've had 200+bhp cars on the road and IMHO anything more than that is wasted in a road car.

my one is standard has been standard for the last 14 years  , well it does have a stainless steel exhaust system but made to factory spec.
Once funds permit, i would like to sort out its handling, and maybe a chip but no plans to take apart the head for any hecktic mods.

Id like to have the car run smoother.

But thats going to be a Alpha N management system at the very least just so I can loose the AFM. Thats a 850Euro touch. Then it would brude not to get the Carbon Airbox. So thats a 2K Euro setup. Then you start considering Cams, porting etc

Personally Im looking at bigger brakes, wheels and suspension before the engine.

My new car is totaly standard as it left the factory! THe exhaust is still the original one! The only thing that is different are the filters

It is very undergeard though almost hit the red line in 5th on the motorway on the way home only 180kph (bought 110)

I prefer a car to handle more than straight line speed anyway, it can be more rewarding to be able to drive fast with a low powered car on a bendy road. You have to be in the right gear at the right time.

I like it fast in the highway, grippy in the curvy roads, sounding good in the traffic lights and looking good when parked. That's why I've got an E30

In fact, when I bought mine it had a K&N on it and the first thing I did before using the car was put the standard filter back on.

Interesting, isn't it, that the question was how many of us have standard cars and yet loads of people have posted that their cars are not standard.

Yeah but i assumed you ment engine mods, i dont think anyone has a standard car anymore. I remember if you have to put your car in a concorse competition, your car needs to be exactly like it came out of the factory that includes the radio, mats, etc.

So saying that, my engine is definatly standard. the interior (got a MP3 player) and exterior (MtechII spoiler) are not.

I would like to add wheels and better suspension thou :)

Looks like I am a rare breed...

My car is a complete standard 318iS and have no intention of changing.

Drives sweet, only bits I changed were clear and side indicators and put 16" alpinas which whilst did not come with the car were original options, but in relation to the post these don't count!

It came with FSH and is in very good condition. I guess at some point I'll get a new one to 'play with' but I only just got this one!

My M3 is 100% standard other than the exhaust (a supersprint stainless job cat back)...I've fitted a front strut brace is all...I now have some Faulkner springs awaiting fitting and there will be Spax adjustable dampers and uprated ARBs

My 325i is also standard...although it now has a Magnex stainless system and is on 225/50/15 Yokos...the engine on this is too good to mess with in any case..

I am interested in how fast my car is, that's why I've got the vehicles I have!

However, driving fast isn't all about engine power....Brakes and suspension make more of a difference...especially on the road!

Sticking a 2.7 in my 320i has shown up the weaknesses of the stock setup.

I will be upgrading a few bits to cope with the extra oomph but I won't be going mad, probably just a decent set of dampers & springs and some of those grooved ATE disks.

Balls, there's me thinking this was going to be a joke about changing lightbulbs. :(
Mine is completely stock. Mainly 'cause I can't afford any mods at the mo. Do have a shopping list of Chip, BBTB and maybe some cold air fed induction kit. If I can work out where to the route the feed pipe. :?
