magpie, you may want to check that the 403 ECU works with this chip, as it's intended for a 405 ECU.

it's now fitted to the car and working well,rev limiter is up to 7.5k rpm now and seems a bit more responsive

7.5k is abit dangerous on these isnt it? I thought it was safe to only rev to a max of around 7.2k?

i've only done it once in testing the chip out,i don't like to drive it that hard.

Interesting to hear that it goes up that far, as that chip had a 7200rpm limit!

It shouldn't harm it though, if done sparingly - I had a 20 year old M30B35 up to 7500 on a few occasions.

It is 7200rpm, the engine will stop making power before 7000rpm though, you would have to be a complete animal to rev it over 7k

i bought it off him and don't think he used it .
