Weather still looks good n dry, windy though so , make sure you've got your woolies as not much shelter there.
From Sunday just gone, this car was on it's 1st shakedown, had a hairy moment on one run on Monday when he switched from the left to the right lane when the front lifted at about the 1/8 mile point
Wheelie bars planned for this weekend.

Just a reminder for those running.
1- your car gets scrutineered - so no fluid leaks or loose battery etc
2- You need your driving licence if you want to run - DON'T FORGET IT
3- Crash helmets are compulsory, so bring one if you have one, but they can be hired on the day.
I've ordered a mini DV cam to film some runs from inside/outside the car, hope it turns up tomorrow. Be good to see some CR24V smackdown going on

General info for people
Racetrack postcode YO42 4SS
When you approach and get onto the B1228 you will eventually see a Yellow sign saying "Drag Racing" and it pointing you down a lovely arrow straight piece of smooth tarmac, as below in the pic

You will be tempted to give it some beans along here, but I urge you to resist as about half a mile further along you'll run out of nice smooth tarmac just after there is a turnoff on the left towards Melbourne, as in the pic below.

The road after this point turns into an utter disgrace, possibly one of the worst roads you will have driven on. My tip is to keep it to about 30mph along here and drive in the centre of the road otherwise you will most likely ground your car out with teh ridiculous pot holes and camber.
The drag strip is a couple of miles from here, staying on the same road, it is on the right hand side and you will see some flag poles and a yellow sign saying Motorsport Park or something like that.
When you drive in, you will be met with another 3rd world road surface as you approach the gate where you pay admission £12.50 for an adult. This is where you tell them if you are spectating or RWYB.
If you are spectating you just then follow around to the left and endure more shitty surface before you park up near the strip/ grandstand.
If you are RWYB then you will be directed to drive straight ahead from the entry gate, under a pylon and follow the road all the way to the top where the pits entry is.
Again, I would say about 5mph is the max you want to do along here if you want to have a car left by the time you reach the pits, it is really rough broken up concrete and shakes the life out of your car if you are an idiot. You eventually reach the top of the pits where you go to scrutineering. If you car passes (no reason not) then you drive out of there and further around the access road to the RWYB pit area.
Then you take your licence and money to the control tower and pay your money and get your race number (which gets written on your hand in permanent marker). You want to be in Category D which is known as Touring Cars, (anything 2ltr + without turbo or nitrous)
You are now ready to race.
I should be there for about 9.30-10.00
Mobile is 07730 556070 if anyone gets lost etc.
DON'T FORGET TO TAKE YOUR DRIVING LICENCE OR YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RACE. If you have a crash helmet take that or you'll have to hire one at the venue

Also people when you pay at the gate, tell them your camping as well if you RWYB or ust spectating and they'll give you a better idea of where to go.
I'll either be down Sat night or Sun morning depending on what the plans are on Saturday around here. Either way it sounds like I'll see you guys on the Sunday at some point in the morning.

GUYS...BRING YOUR OWN BEER...THE BAR IS CLOSED THIS WEEKEND
I've read on the York forum that the licensing authority have been playing silly buggers with the guys that run the bar (who apply for a portable venue license every meeting) and this is due to the amount of bank holidays we've had and the notice period that must be given or something like that.
So bring you own cans as there will be no bar open as usual (or at least not selling alcohol).

normally photocard is enough Dan, but it never hurts to bring both if available. I've never been asked for the paper part on a trackday/RWYB yet to date on any track, but still always bring it just in case.

the V8's are there all weekend Steve so you should still be able to see plenty.
I can't wait now....I'm there every meeting and yet I still get excited....is that just a little bit sad?

Wacka wacka
Good day's racing, only snag was a 30mph head wind, so was kind of similar to the pod last year.
OK, cutting to the chase, Dan served up the best time with a 13.7 @ 100.something MPH, git
I got a new personal best but a 13 second 1/4 still evades me. 14.0779 @ 96.59MPH & 14.0990 @ 97.70MPH. Loads of 14.1's
My best 0-60 time was 5.63 and few other 5.64's.
Got some cheeky vids but need to know how to edit them down in length as there is loads of useless crap I need to get rid of. Got 2 in car ones of me racing Dan.
Will go through the photos and post them up in a bit.
Magpie ran consistent 14.7's I recall and Neil (320touring) was giving his B20 all the spanking possible in the 17's.
I'll let them put up their exact times etc

Not bad times really,
considering the 30mph head winds
and
an E30 that has the aerodynamics of a house brick
really really wish I wasn't stuck in "limp mode" or I would of been there
