I have a couple of M50 questions before i start putting my lump in.
Do i need to change the fuel pump on my E30? i had an M42 engine in it beforehand?
does the sump on an m50 need to changed to a 5 series sump as mine is out of a 3 series?

You need a sump, pick up and dip stick tube from an e34 for definate mate,
Not sure on the fuel pump as mine was an m20 2.0 originaly so I used that! I would say you may need a 6 pot fuel pump but don't quote me on this.....
You may need to change your clocks for 6 pot cluster so they give the proper readings also

A 2 door e30 with 8 cylinders, what could be better

Fuel tank & pump will be fine.
No need to change the whole clocks, just the coding plug from a 6 cylinder model is all that will be needed.
