I'm about to start my M52 swap this week. I have a complete running conversion in a knackered E30 shell which I am transplanting into my 325i cabby.
It's been suggested that I drop the whole subframe etc. off the donor and lift the car over it for removal, rather than take it all out through the top. Is this straightforward and less hassle/time than the 'conventional' way of engine removal?
Assuming this is a good way then can I do the same with my cabby and bolt the whole conversion in from underneath?
