Recently had the fan fixed on my iS (well replaced I should say) and took it out for a spin today.

Dont think there is anything wrong with the temp gauge as it goes up when stationary or driving slow and cools down when I speed up

BUT I am not sure if I am just driving it too hard (often between 3.5 and 6 rpm) and the temp guage is creeping past half way (it did not use to do it!) is this is to be expected or do I have a more serious cooling problem?

I know there could be loads wrong but I do make sure the car is serviced and looked after but I figured there might be some checks I could.

I did bring it back home and opened the bonet, it did cool down but thats kinda the rules of physics...!

I only notice my temp guage to go over halfway when there's a lack of cooling fluid, keep it topped up and it goes halfway at the worst of times.

I take it you mean you had the viscous coupling replaced?

yeah i think you should check the fluid levels every morning, if you notice a drop in level, it could be the hoses expanding with the heat and losing liquid. i had a problem aswell. one of the hoses had a crack taht only showed up when i drove my car hard and long.

As far as i know when i changed the viscous on my 320 the temp gauge didnt go over half, if the levels are good like the guys say they should be, then check that they did replace the fan. If in doubt take it back.
