Remove the bonnet and wrap some clingfilm over the top ...job done!
Cheap but effective.

i decided to keep my red one. i took it for a pre mot and they said the only thing it will fail on is the inner arches

I suspect the final result will be very very similar.
Unless there is something epic under the bonnet, ///M power, V8 or V12 you'll never get away with it.

Be even kooler if you could fab a fake hole and stick a fly catcher to make it look like a big V8 under the hood

Badboy bonnets can look ok on an E30 but perspex? There must be one on the web somewhere?
Get some inch thick perspex for the bonnet and insert LEDs into the edges and etch E30 Zone into the centre, switch 'em on and there you have it. Proper Bo
