Whats the best thing to coat my 6 branch manifold with to stop it rusting with
scot 328i with 260bhp

Wire brush it then several coats of VHT(very high temp) paint. That's what I did mine with.

You can get it powder coated, i am not sure if thats a option for you, its a bit expensive, even over here.

If you are hoping that any sort of paint is going to provide a permanent solution, then I think you will be a bit disappointed.

The only real cure is some sort of specialist coating. There are specialists that can ceramic coat the pipes which provides corrosion resistance, and also does a similar job to exhaust wraps (retains the heat). Another option is to get it metal sprayed. I have a specialist not far from me that can actually spray a coating of metal on the surface of the pipes. They can spray all sorts of different metals including, Stainless steel, Zinc, Aluminium and probably a bunch of others.

This company http://www.camcoat.u-net.com/Exhausts.htm does very good work, or you can buy some and do it yourself.

Your manifold is rusting because its been on the car for 18 months and the car has been driven 5 miles.

I saw it the other day and its only surface rust anyway.

Jags has a brand new one in silver - ask him to change it over.
