Yes, sorry it's not compressed.

I filled two 128mb memory cards, it only works out to be about 8 mins each

I use my MGB Quite regular for trackdays did my last one Thursday at Silverstone :D

Like some other people have said its not about red lining it in every gear as it's not a race. It's all about mastering the track and finding your cars limits.

Providing your car is well maintained you should have no issues, i always make sure i've given the mg a service before each track day, oil and filter change, set the tappets, check the diff oil etc..

It took me a while to build up the courage to book my first one as i was scared of either breaking something or crashing! but i've not looked back since!

My best bit of advice is to go round with an instuctor for a few laps and it makes the world of difference and does not usually cost much.

I've been on 4 trackdays this year at silverstone and donington and evenmy 28 year old mg hasn't broken yet! and it is pushed to it limits,

I'll be up the trackday at donington on the 3rd, in the mg though as i don't think it would be much fun in an auto cab lol! it's my favourite course aswell :)

On the plus side i believe that donington does have some storage space if your car breaks down so it can be kept there until your able to collect it :P

Oh and it will be just be the national circuit at donington and i doubt the garages or pits will be open as they were being demolished when i went last month and we had to use paddock 2.

One thing I forgot that is very helpful is to look much further ahead then you probably would naturally. You should be at least looking to the apex as you are braking for the corner (depending on how long you have to brake of course) and then to the exit as you turn in. Sometimes you should even look a bit further ahead then that, especially if there are multiple connected corners because you have to pick the best line through them and set up the exit of one to be the entry of the next.

It feels different to start with but if you practice it then it really helps you to drive smoothly and flow around the track and if the car goes sideways it becomes natural to correct it. I mean it isn't a rush of arms and hands as you try to get the oposite lock on like it can be if you look too short, it all seems to happen a lot slower, smoother and more controlled and you put on the right amount of opposite sometimes without even thinking about it. It is amazing the difference it makes especially on dirt or low grip surfaces. It will probably tire you out mentally after a while though, you see how tired race drivers get towards the end of a longer race.

The way I see it for any of you guys who are reluctant to take your pride and joy on to the track is to buy a 325i track slag for a couple of hundred quid(ebay - spares or repair / auto trader - bargain cars) believe me the cheap ones are out there. It's certainly a lot cheaper than forking out for a big bodyshop bill. (if the worst should happen) :drive:
