took the 350i out for it's first shakdown this evening.
shame about the weather here, it's been hammering down all day, and didn't let up while we were out.
we were only out for half hour or so but f**k me its fast.
i couldn't get traction even in third, just spinning the wheels off the throttle.
got a couple of niggley things to get sorted by next weekend.
the sound was awesome.
it was only when we were out that we realised we didn't take the camera.
look out llandow.

a day later and i still can't get this grin off my face
i was strugling to keep it in a straight line in third.
the road we were on wasn't really long enough to get any higher gears,
mind you 6-7000rpm in third must of been a fair few knots,up hill over a crest it was leaving the ground.
and popping flames as i was changing gears.
before i changed the battery last week, i left it without power to the ecu for too long, now the ecu is learning again and it wont tickover properly.
hope i can sort it by next weekend

congrats mate a true piece of engineering, bet there are not many who would attempt such a complicated swap!(then drive it)
only spinning in third, poor, must be something wrong... is the turbo not spinning up enough?? or is there not even one in there???
still like the 318ish badge idea!!
well done mate

Awesome Glen, bet you had the time of your life getting it on the road after all your patience building it. I had some good news to do with the turbo at the weekend too.

I was thinking that. I might able to get home by 7.30am, get up at midday and be there about 1.30-2pm (ish). It all depends on how the shift goes as to what time I could get home.glenn wrote:if you have to work, maybe come along after some shut eye.
