This new m40 doesn't have central locking, which is a tad odd.
What parts do i need to retro fit it.

you sure ?according to the article on the zone
Standard Equipment for all models:
- Central locking with dead lock
- Front & rear inertia reel seat belts
- Green tinted glass
- Anti-dazzle safety mirror
possibly someone has had it out at somepoint?
no sign of the wiring loom or control box at all?

Yes i'm sure!
Its only had one owner and they would never have a clue how to take central locking out!
The car is a South African import (built in SA!) the people i just bought it from have had it from new, imported it in 96!
I suspect this is the reason why it doesn't...
air-con and no central locking.....cause that makes sense....

hmm-allrighty then-my flatmates southafrican-they do have some "eccentricities"
I may have a spare controller if you want, and could probably "aquire " solenoids for you if you wanted assuming I can find an e30 about these parts!
My touring's central locking is disabled at the moment and TBH i dont really like it anyway-I'm an "oldskool" pushbutton fella, so could probably take it out ....

Yea I used to live with a Safa as well, he is also enccentric to say the least!
May well take you up on the central locking, I'm bound to forget to lock the boot or a door at some point! And i also really need to fit an alarm.
I'm swapping interiors over in the two cars 2morrow so it will give me a good chance to see whats what with it
