:woohoo:
My Touring's mobile again. Thanks to all those among us who gave advice, offered tips, loaned tools and encouraged me when it all went t1ts-up. Big yourselves up - you know who you are!
The final outcome was that I had the broken studs machined out of the original 'head, had it decoked, the valves and seats re-cut, new stem seals and a skim.
I've fitted a 325i TB, opened out and radiused the inlet manifold to suit. I don't know if it will help the cooling, but I left the fan shroud off (put in a new rad too). The exhaust note seems to be "crisper" and the idle is a tad smoother.
Down side (there's always something when I do a job!) :screwy: is that the rockers are noisy. I've never been any good at setting valve clearances.......
When it started-up, Wor Lass said "Do you want to keep it now, then?"
Don't women ask some dumb questions???
Oh!........ I fitted my 360mm steering wheel too. It's much better than the SE 'wheel.
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

Nice one Essbee!!!

Glad to see you kept the heid and got the job done. Bet you it feels a bit more responsive now :D

325tb seems to be a gameplan on the b20, and the fact you did the manifold too will help no end!.Just check that the cable is actually giving you WOT, as sometimes can be a bit "sticky"

Women, eh....sheesh. at least she said "keep it" rather than "oh, now its fixed we can get rid of it"
