Just a quick one - are the kinpin assemblies universal across all E36 models? i.e. will an M3 kingpin assembly fit a 316i strut and vice versa? Will M3 calipers fit 316i kingpin assemblies and vice versa?
Thanks!

You can fit a non M3 strut on an M3 kingpin, or visa versa, as Jason says though, there are 3 types of e36 kingpin

Ok, how about brake lines...should I decide to fit E36 or E36 m3 calipers, will normal E30 flexi lines screw into these or will i need the E36 lines?

Well you will be using M3 calipers.. The e30 lines bolt in fine.
