Just got the majority of my wiring done. Fairly straight forward with the full wiring diagrams and a bit of time.
But
According to the wiring guide where the main splice is made:
M50 pin 1 blu/wht --> M20 pin 2 grn/yel
M50 pin 2 blu/yel --> M20 pin 10 blu
My M50 (1993 e36 325i) loom has neither pin1 nor pin2 connected, although my M20 did have pins 2 & 10. I've just left these unattached, will this have any effect?
(Also, pin20 ABS was not present on e30 and I left it)
Thanks in advance.
Wiring question - pins 1 & 2 on the connector.

Thats because your E36 loom doesnt have an oil level plug. The check control will be complaining about oil level, you can fit this separately to your loom if you want it as your E34 sump will most likely have an oil level sender

Thanks Dan.
I had a quick look and didn't see one on the sump, if it's the round hole right underneath the sump than I don't have one.
pins 1&2 are described as static and dynamic level, Is it simply a 2-pol and just use both?
What if I don't have one and can't be bothered to fit one, can I short out the 2 wires or something?
EDIT: Level indicator doesn't look cheap!
Just found this:

Assuming this is correct, which connection does 1, 2 & 3 refer to on the E30 connector?

Thanks Will.
It's a shame but unless he M50 leaks like my M20 used to I should be fine with just a dipstick.
