M50B25, Can i remove these?

2 things im not sure if i need, there both in the cooling system, can i just remove them and connect the pipes back up or do i need to leave them in place?

first is this, it goes in the pipe from the block to the heater matrix, is it needed?

First is a heater valve it controls the amount of water going through the heater so unless you want it fully hot or fully cold I'd leave it in place :)

Second is a wax stat from memory I think it just lets the airbox draw in warmer air when cold? not that essential.

dont all E30s havr the heater tap on the inside of the cabin?
and the E36s on the outside witch i would have thought that was....
therfore not needing it...

Yeah, sorry didn't realise it was for a conversion, should have done really eh! :)

Dont link those two smaller pipes up as it will be pumping hot coolant around the throttle body permanently = bad news for power..
Follow the pipe back to the head and replace the stub with a blanking bolt
The other hose needs blanking off with either the stub you removed from the head after its had some mig action or a 12mm bolt winkeye

You can but it will take longer for the engine to warm up, blanking them off is the best way, dead easy, a sump plug or old temp sensor fits the in the head perfect :wink:
