That's a lovely galvanised 4 pot.

Nice example, think nogaro centres would look nicer then gold IMO.

whats nogaro mate ? you mean on the other wheels ?

they are to be gold, with gold caps, silver polished lip

i have these silver ones,see a lot of black/polished lip

and didnt want to have 2 sets the same, so thought gold , to be honest im not entierly sure what they will look like and look like on the car, i did post pic requests and views on what to do with them, and didnt get much reponse or ideas, so thought sod it il go with gold and see what they look like

That looks ace fella!! I know they get slated but i love iS's! :cool:

Nogaro is the Motorsport colour, check the wheels in my sig pic. Nogaro with polished lips. I'd agree with above, they will look much more tastefull and inkeeping than gold but gold centers do work on the right car so will look forward to seeing them on yours.

Definately a no to your previous thought to side skirts, i had a Brilliant Red iS and had some SE skirts in the shed removed from another Brilliant Red E30, chose to keep them off the iS.

Just need the end piece for the bulkhead cable cover :wink:

haha yes they do, but - i think its maybe just because their owners love them so much, yes they are a 4 pot- but they perform admirably for a 1.8, light and quick to drive, brilliant around town, and cheaper to run and insure than a 325/sport , which also if petrol prices continue to rise and rise, the is will be deemed a good e30 to own and run, only had my licence 2 years, and i love the car, cost me £237 i think it was last month to insure for a year !!! and only having my license that long, along with the £200 for a year it cost me to insure my discovery, i think 437 for 2 cars for a years insurance is fantastic , more so when prices have increased for a lot of people

ah i see, cant enlarge the pic much, but is it a black or graphite type color ? i like contrast, of the chrome with black , etc, not one for blacking ou the lights and grill,and like the silver wheels, didnt want black, so gambled on the gold and praying they look the business and set the car off nice, well see, its a bit of a blind gamble so i just have to wait and hope it looks right

yes i agree and decided against the se skirts, reminds me 1 last thing i need to put on are the new oem mud flaps, £100 they cost me , after i took the old set off, and rusting brackets etc,and i lost 1 flap somewhere, i thought sod it il buy a new set

what exactly is the bulkhead cable cover ? can you point it out and what one looks like ? winkeye

the engine bay,and more performance, is next in line

You might get away with the gold, bit OTT for me though. The original Motorsport wheels didn't have the polished lip, were just painted Polaris Silver, bigger pic of my OZs to give you an idea;
Image

This is what the missing piece of the cover looks like, far left;

For performance there are only a few things you can do to an iS without it getting expensive, a proper remap (not a crappy plug in generic chip) and a lightened flywheel. Most people are using lightened M20 flywheels with decent results, on mine i went to the extreme and had an ally JBR flywheel, bloody expensive but trasformed the car. Mine wasn't remapped and stayed with standard 325i's up to 70-80mph quite easily. A Z3 steering rack is the other major mod i can't recommend highly enough on one of these and is an easy job.

thanks mate- so does that go where ? over the wires the battery end or other end ? have to a get me one of those

those wheels look lovely, i like that color to be honest, although getting mine done in that is kid of not an option, as i really like the silver 1st and foremost, the gold idea- is for a nice summer set,and keep the silver rest of year, having a nice silver set for summer,and a darker winter/rest of year set would be nice, but then i dont want to pay out a lot to get a winter set done , was sort of stuck really, il post pics up when i get them back , the refurb is only costing me decent mates rates, so at very worst if they dont look right,il sell them for decent money and be quids in, and then have a re think for another set-

the car performs and drives admirably for a 1.8 as it is, and getting used to rwd anyway- so not really bothered with performance stuff, as all the above stuff ive done has been in line 1st, now im delighted with it all and sorted a lot of detail , its onwards to that

so how much would a lightened m20 flywheel cost to buy ? and then to get put in ? is it somethign the whole engine needs to come out or what ? ie the labour involved ?

heard about the z3 rack and after the difference the z3 short shift made, it is definatly something i think il end up with getting

also how much would a proepr re map cost ? do i need to buy a chip for that 1st, or do you mean i just get it mapped how it is and dont bother with a chip ?

what i really need to do next, is sit down and have a lonmg proper look through all the history and look for any sign or evidence of any performance upgrades that may have been done in the past, as to be honest im not sure if any has or has not

come a long way hasnt it dan from that fateful day, where i dont work in the day- it keeps me busy and i like keepingn it clean, i also dont keep it garaged and il drive it every day now until it retires for the winter again, just gives me immense pleasure when i drive it and see it gleaming as i walk towards it about to drive it

yes rob have thought about rear pop outs and adit is looking for me what he has, although the car has all matching bmw glass and the windows are nice as is, so im not sure if i want to meddle with them, but wel see, want the rear blind shelf in 1st and the rocker/manifold refurbed up so it looks the part when the bonnets lifted up, although clean and nice still

That looks mint and very well taken care of! If I ever have a coupe it is to have a tec1 spoiler as well or no spoiler depending on the rest of the car.

I'm with Kedge on a lightened fly transforming the m42, I drove his former iS and it's quite different to my standard m42. M20 flywheels are handy enough to pickup and lightening shouldn't cost to much, could try and source a e21 323 flywheel they weigh just over 6kg.

Look forward to clean engine bay pics :D

i agree mate ! i work evenings so dont/rareley go out drinking etc , and im about in the daytimes , and tinkering with the cars at my garage is what i enjoy, it is scary the money you can put in to these cars, but the things have made it so much better, the map light mirror has proved to be a sublime addition, and daft now i waited so long to get one, and also love the head rests, they just make the car look so much better, having it fully equipped and driving and looking so nice, them small details,have made the car so so much nicer

few mates have showed a real interest latley, took a couple out for a drive in the last week, the other night me and my mate went out for a few hours, and it was right on the money, the car was hungry for it and lapped it up, 80mph round some winding roads and it was sublime-right on the edge ! i rarely drive like that but it had some !! so smooth and prescise it felt, my mate was in love, really getting in to the all round design and feel of the e30, the way the bilsteins and ebach suspension made the car cling to the road, that rwd feel... it was just fantastic, he really couldnt get over the car having 192k on the clocks and being 21 years old,and only a 1.8, but light and nimble and revvy and hungry for the speed, has no problems getting up to speed and slowing back down to a cruise ,the engine was absoloutly purring and loving it, hed never been in it before, but he then understood why i loved the car so much, and 3 hours odd and some flat out driving- all for £15 odd in fuel !! - fantastic

ive just found out about a graffiti location aswell im going to check out and take some photos soon

also painted the 4.27 diff i picked up today, all looking good, my diff has a bit of a leak so going to swap them over and try the .27 and see what difference it makes,and get new seals etc for the 4.10 , some say it will give better acceleration
