How many people are running the e36 m42 engine in their e30's??
and how many of you run lambda sensors and how many dont? what sort of mpg do your m42's return?
Im trying to get to the bottom of my M42 not running properly, before i resort to another swap!

Its running with the e36 ecu and engine, an e30 engine wiring loom, e30 inlet manifold and exhaust manifold.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I'm running an e36 m42 with e36 intake, ecu and lambda sensor. I get around 35-40 mpg.

Thanks for the reply, Im wondering how much difference to performance and economy it would make running mine with lambda, I only get about 30mpg at a real push

Without lambda sensor your engine will default to a rich setting this inturn will make you use more fuel. You will also lose some performance. Hope this helps.

That confirms my suspicions! Think I'll be looking for a lambda sensor then :)
Thanks

zimmerkid did you ever get to install a lambda sensor? and what benefits did you get? coz im in the same situation aswell. and it has to be the "factory like" sensor or will and other car lambda sensor do?
