I would really like to lose my extenal aerial and hide it somewhere. But I am not sure on the options.
Any Ideas?

Hiding Aerial

you can get stick on ones, they stick to the front or rear glass, then just run the cable down the pillars (behind the trim of course) then under the carpet to the dashboard.
Did that many moons ago on a vauxhall carlton, time consuming but an easy job.
Only downside is the reception is not quite as good as a standard one, not much difference probably won't even notice it.

I was wondering if you could do something similar to what was on MK3 Ford Granadas; the aerial was incorporated into the heated rear screen. I think it had some sort of booster/ antenna module and the reception was perfectly good in all the Granadas I owned. Theoretically you could get the module from a breakers and www.gs-online.co.uk should have more info if you need it.

So you mean my Granada wasn't quite as cool as I thought it was?! Never mind, that was then and I have fully subscribed to the E30 way now..........
my discovery has one of them antenna in the rear side window
why do you want to loose the ariel ?
is it an electric one ? mine comming up/down every time key was turned, and being up all the time i was driving when i rarley use radio, got on my tits
so i got a fog light switch (can use any owm e30 switch) and put it in the spare switch next to hazzards that has a blanking plate in, wired the ariels blue remote wire that goes to the stero, through the switch..and hey presto a push button operated electric ariel, so can be left down all the time, and just press the button when you want to use it,a cool easy little mod

e36s use internal aerials too if you want to try making something but would rather use bmw bits.
ive found reception on both 36s to be better than any car with external aerials ive ever owned!

just get an internal window stick on one and try it, see what you think, they are pretty cheap anyway. you could always get a cheap replacement rubber type one and hide it in the wing, fibreglass over the hole and then paint.

That sounds the best idea. Why use Ford bits when BMW have the solution!harry_p wrote:e36s use internal aerials too if you want to try making something but would rather use bmw bits.

you could also try www.dabonwheels.co.uk
They have a few options for both regular and DAB aerials you can hide anywhere.
