Not been on a dyno yet mate, the power delivery isnt that aggressive, a turbo converted engine for example would test the parts much more due to how the power comes in.
I could drive the car fine in normal circumstances but quick changes were not possible so its more of a refinement type of upgrade, im actually using a smaller diameter centre plate this time round, the friction area itself is smaller so there will be more clamping force. The clutch is more than capable of handling the power in general driving, I dont know how long it would last if I was kicking the 5hit out of it round a track though :)

Low 13's would make me more than happy :D

Still looking ace fella.

Just had a quick flick through the thread as i've been thinking for a while now not to go with the Tech 1 kit on mine and looking at you pics they have cemented my decision. Will be dechrome with body coloured bumpers instead now.

When you dropped the fuel tank did you treat the underside with anything or did you just leave it alone, got the tank out of mine as the moment and just wondering what to do. Mine wasn't quite a tidy under there though, few spots of surfice rust on the mounting brackets

PS, still ok for Sunday morning?

Contrast is good 8)
Sunday AM is fine,

Any dirty bits got wiped over with a diesel soaked rag, blown off with compressed air and then most of the area brushed over with clear waxoil paying extra attention to any seams/joins/cavities etc.

Wrongness indeed Dave, but at least its a new one, this was my other option - http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... c&t=194060

Dont have time for that, and with a billet flywheel and new clutch (uprated probably) thrown in its going to cost the thick end of £800 :?

Pod is July this year mate :D

You can save your hammer for your M30 conversions Steve winkeye

Steve, think i've got some chrome bezel rings, clock surround, window winders and indicator/wiper stalks somewhere from a breaker, will stick those on to keep you chrome addicts happy :P

Don't suppose you have a nice minty Polaris bonnet and passenger door available do you? PM me if you do :)

Clutch now works like a new one :)
Biting point is about 1/2 way down the pedal, perfect!
Fast changes now possible

I turned the AKG mounts through 180° and they sit right

This is why I decided to use them -

M5 mounts are a waste of money it seems...

Ive had them a few years now, used them on my 4 door first with the B25 and they were fine. The 2.8 killed the drivers side mount first, so when the Alpina went in I used an E36 mount on the drivers side and the other M5 mount was left on the passenger side, ive probably only done about 1000 miles on that one with the B3 donk

Could the mount have given way due to the other mount being an E36 mount, I.E, softer material compared to this M5 harder mount rubber?? :?

Its the angle that kills them Rav, the mount plates on an E36 crossmember are at a slightly different angle to the E30 crossmember, so a straight mount is under tension as soon as its bolted down, its basically destined to fail.
The round mounts last better but soften up quicker, the square mounts as above stay stiffer for longer but fail spectacularly as you can see.

They did much better on yours mate, I heard your feature was one of the biggest spends TBMW had ever shelled out for due to the night shift and overtime for the computerists :)
