Notchback is the best shape IMO

What is it a 289?

I think it's a 68', the 289 was replaced in 68' by the 302 lee, who knows it might be a 427 :D

I love the notchbacks, Pacer has a minty supercharged 427 shelby type clone festering up his passage in coupe stylee, he's too scared to drive it !

Indeed 302 4V replaced the 289 for 1968..

As a genuine 427 it would be worth a pretty penny as part of a mere 6 month availability!

Yup indeed.. Epic. Will have one before fuel is for the rich only.

Didn't realise Pete still had the Clone.. If he needs a test driver, he has my number, I am sure I could make myself available.. winkeye :)

Good to Finally find a forum with knowledgable peoples, yes its a 289cu 4.7 v8 auto, majorly in original form where possible :-)

And yes agreed fastbacks are great looking cars but seeing this roll down the road is such a pretty site! Evan after having it for 10 years it still wows which is nice.. New cars have lost that charector me thinks

289 4v? Is it a very early '68 then or engine swapped?

Any Series 1 Mustang is an awesome spectacle coming down the road.. Fastbacks just have more presence I think from angled views due to the muscular arse end on them. My old man used to have a black '71 Fastback 351 Mach 1 with the Cleveland lump, which my mum used to drive to work!

'65 fastback GT 350 clone with a Paxton supercharged 351 windsor, actually . No "notch" wrongness here ! :)

After a lengthy rest, the turd is finally due a stint in the garage and may even hit the road shortly , if I manage to stop bits breaking/falling off :(

It'd have to be a 427 side oiler, with tunnel port heads and dual quad barrel carbs. Like the ones in the SHELBY Cobra's (not the AC's), and or the late GT40.
My dad has one in his 68 notch-back mustang. We looked at selling the engine a few months ago. It'd go built for over 20K... (dollars)

Very nice mustang though! And very nice vert...
