LPG conversion N.Devon
Moderator: martauto
I live in North Devon and commute to Somerset, which is putting about 25k a year on my mileage...I'm running a 2.0 l tourer...and its all starting to get a tad expensive....I'd like to keep the E30 and convert it to lpg rather than change it for a Euro rot-box diesel of some sort....does anyone know of any decent specialists where I can get this done in the South-West...anywhere between Barnstaple and Taunton would be good... Cheers

Hi, I DIY converted my 325i M20 and have had good results, saving approx £100/1,000 miles.
It is a relatively easy conversion if you're handy with a soldering iron, but if you need someone to do it quickly. . .
I was reccomended D and N autogas in Wellington 01823 668 668, by my friends who have had three conversions done by them in the past, I visisted them and was impressed before deciding to DIY my conversion.
Perhaps Brianmooore might be interested in doing the conversion?

Can anyone suggest how to test if the boot lights are staying on with the boot shut?

Im also very interested in doing this im currently doing a 120 mile commute a day but for obvious reasons im not using my 2.5 e30 but I would like to start to use it again , let us know how you get on. Im also in north devon too
it wouldnt be hidden, but how about chopping up a scrap rear 3/4 and putting a complete filler flap setup to mirror the factory on on the left hand side.
ive been considering lpg for my e36, and its the bodge-on fillers that really put me off all the conversions i've seen so far!
or behind a hinged numberplate?

NOT a good idea!! LPG vapour is heavier than air, and spilt vapour (such as when the filler nozzle is removed) would collect in the boot.cee wrote:Or just in the boot...
It's essential that the filler is mounted clear of anywhere that vapour could collect.
