Awesome, still need to have a proper poke around and see how bad it it, inner wing deffo needs welding but after another look on friday with Simon the rest might be savable. We shall see.

One bit of good news was I managed to get my rep Alpina spoiler to fit properly at last, so well pleased with that

Took the e30 down to Steves today for a bit of a social, check out the moredoor and a quick wash on mine but ended up using quite a bit of his homo valeting gear.
First time the cars had a proper hand wash in ages.
Came out quite well i think, going to wait till one sides had paint before we start going mad with mopping and polish though. Cheers Steve! The more door will super when done

Well, she has went in for paint yesterday!

Driver side rear quarter, door, door shut and front wing is all that funds will allow atm, these areas are what needed attention the most urgently.

To save a bit of cash Simon and Steve give us a hand to strip it down, cheers lads :)

With some tlc on the rest of the car it should tidy the old girl up no end :D

Hello mate

The ones we are after are the white clips (slidding) that hold the door shut plastic trim in place, will try and look these up later.

Ive just been down to Johns as he had a few questions on a few bits before he goes on with it.

Think I am gonna need the green circular gromets that hold the SE section in place and also possibly some more of the white clips that hold the door/wing and rear quarter bump strips in place.

Again will try and look up part numbers later unless someone beats me to it!

Thanks Chris thats great but dont worrie too much, think Im gonna be needing quite a few other bits too, no escaping the local dealer!

Trev, Henry and Suchy, I think so too. Still loads to do though!

The other side will be getting done next year if not the whole of the rest of the car, I know it a bit weird doing it like that but I think its the only way it will get done.

I have enough of the white side skirt clips to give you, I'll bring them on Thursday, the rest I'll look up for you tomorrow, I'm putting a small order in with BMW tomorrow anyway so I can get your bits too, you can benefit from my discount then aswell. I'll text you in the morning.

Well, went to see how John was getting on with the car today, it would have been done by now but he ended up in hospital for a week so abit behind.

Its just about ready for primmer and I must say Im well impressed with the repair work he has done so far, lots of niggles have been sorted and all looks top draw.

In the mean time Ive got some new boots for the 8j's, sad to see the Goodyear Eagle F1s go but onwards and upwards with some Toyos which for the money are a cracking tyre.

Also got some Alpina side skirts though the post today which Im well pleased about, been after a set for a long time and always kicked myself for not having Barrys off of the C2 he was breaking 3 or 4 years ago. Just need to pester Mr 13 to fit them once painted :D
Apart from cruise control thats pretty much it as far as options/upgrades that I want, then again the front brakes need sorting out soon, tempted!

Will try and get some pictures up soon, getting quite excited about gettin it back now!

Finally picked up the E30 yesterday morning with a busy day infront.

Have to say, really really pleased with the work John (AE Coachworks) did, no orange peal, a good colour match and quality finnish ment I was very happy :)

The slight surface rust in the rear quarter opening window shut (where they rub) is now painted, door shut repainted, rear arch adjusted and painted, lower rear pannel repainted ( slight bubbling around previous repair), front wing, door and underside of door resealed and painted.
Hopefully we wont be revisting this side of the car for any bodywork for a long time!

While it was in for paint I took various bits home for cleaning and painting, bumper trims painted.
This was alot of work, they were looking pretty shabby! I would like to have gone for new ones but I didnt want to pay £200 only to break all the clips again when I take them off next year for the rest of the body work to be done, so temp fix to brighten them up and they have come out pretty well.

Also repainted the kidney grill, headlight surrounds and cleaned up some sterling brake ducts that I got off of Trevor.

Off round to Steves house, Simon13 was a legend yesterday helping do the majority fiddley stuff on
the refit and of course the Alpina side skirts while Stevo worked on his red 2 door.
Have to say I fookin love these, finnish the car off so well and Simon did a wicked job fitting them!
Also fitted some new door handles and replaced many of the old clips as we could.

The door trims had snapped there clips so looks like Ill have to bend over and get new ones :(

Thats about it, propper homo fest yesterday. Run out of time in the end and never got to clean the whole car after so only a couple of pics to come.

New number plates and weather permititing next weekend a machine polish on the rest of the car and the jobs a good un! Well for now anyway:)

Many thanks to Simon and Steve, Zone hero's for real

Well pleased, that was the really rough side of the car lol

The side skirts change it so much, its looking a bit tech 1ish again now :)

They have both been winding me up all weekend when I will get the otherside sorted but to be honest next year Ill prob get the whole of the rest of the car done as long as my business is going well but for now Im well chuffed :D

Simon took a few pics and will get them up soon I expect, after a good clean at the weekend will take some more.

Inspiration for you maybe Suchy? :D

I know what you mean, Im very lucky to have friends like Simon to help out so we can blitz it, Ive done quite a bit of tiling for him and he helps with the E30.

The good thing about your Sport dude is its garaged so hopefully not too many horrors will lurk beneath!

I've got this kinda dread as to what I will find after this length of time....

Anyway enough of that, this is about YUC 8)
Yeah you guys seem to have a bit of a crew up there that help each other out, which is great! So I'm expecting good things from the photos :D

It was all very sad yesterday, the amount of turd fettlin was awesome. Next Saturday will see the other side look something approaching the fresh paint. Pimon should be along with pics soon, looks brilliant.
