Hi,
Posting on behalf of a mate in need of some help.
The car is a 1990 convertible, the roof is in the down position, when you pull the lever in the rear door card, it releases the catches but it's not quite coming free, can anyone help or is there anything he's doing wrong?
Thanks
Jon

Thanks Rav,
Do you adjust the cable at the handle end or at the catch?
I think the release handle has come unhinged at the bottom and is stretching but not quite releasing the passenger side catch, the drivers side catch seems to release ok, presumably once it's free you lift up that panel and the hood is below it. Never seen one of these in action you see (not on a BMW anyway)

Just thought I would check the obvious, I'm assuming you know there is a secondary catch under the passenger side cover, bit like a bonnet release. Pulling the handle just releases the first catch, then you slide your finger under the front of the cover to release the next one.

Can you describe it a bit more? Do you mean the release handle (like a door handle in the rear passenger door card?)
Thanks,
Jon

You pull the 'door handle' and the cover pops up just far enough for you to slide a finger in under the cover at the passenger side, you will find a second safety catch there, move that toward the rear of the car and the cover should rise on it's struts.

Hand on quarter of an hour and I'll take a couple of photos.....
