Thought I would do a little thread on my French beaut.

Now I know 99% of you hate the FWD motion of travel but IDC ;)

I've owned this since 2009 and have tried to sell it twice with no avail and have finally decided it's a keeper!

First Performance Action Day with it:
Image

I then had Clio 16v Turbines and a Cup Spoiler and PH1 rear lights
Image

Image

I then put it back to standard, tried to sell it after buying this beaut (which I want back!!)

Image

But it didn't sell and I had to sell the E30 as I couldn't afford to get it fixed and keep the 320i 150 mile to £40 fuel costs going!

Soo I whacked a nice big air filter on for some noise

Image

Took it to the Isle of Wight Festival my second year going(notice lack of Cup Spoiler)

Image

and got a Carbon fibre front diamond:

Image

It then went back to standard for the second time and I boguht this (which I still currently own but is for sale atm)

Image

But it's too slow and lack of guts make it unfun so the Clio is back!

Unfortunately I'd damaged the car in the work's car park in late 2009 and never got the work done so after drilling the sideskirt off it's gone from:

to:
Image

Also have got a Skoda splitter fitted now (£12 bargain)
Image

OEM looking engine bay(for the time being)
Image

And also a cup spoiler:

Just recently have put some Apex 40mm lowering springs on and getting a private plate this week!!

I love it though. 100+mph, 34mpg round town and even more fun round corners!

Just need an E30 back as a project car

FWD is not the problem. The problem is it's French

Mind you. I bet Renaults don't rot like an E46! I saw an 03 plate 330Ci with two festering wings the other day. Dogshit.

To hazard a guess, that car has had a rear quarter on it at some point.

I have to say I had a phz1 172 full fat and it's the only car I would ever buy again, I was going to buy a 106 gti..but is was too slow the clio is 6.9sec on the dash(depending on your sources of information!) It's nice simple French thinking, small car big heart.

Yeah lovely cars. Great driving feel on them and the power is brilliant for such a small car! Economy is it's strong point for it's engine size though.

As are E92 wings. At last they might be learning. The rotted Clio is no surprise - after all, it's now a 15 year old Clio and the basic ones were only ever a cheap shitbox with a 10 year lifespan.

Iirc, the Shitroen BX had plastic wings and that was 1983/4.

what is the slow e46?
I like these clios at least they don't weigh 1.5 tonnes like all the modern BMW's.

As do E90 M3's. Talking of which i had to sort an annoying rattle on one of these this week. I funnily enough was a loose plastic wing captive nut which was resonating up the A pillar and into the cabin.

Some mild locktite on the wing bolts sorted it.

A 318ci iirc from a previous thread. Slow is probably a bit harsh - they go well with the 143bhp valvetronic donk (just over 9 seconds 0-60). Not a rocket ship but a lot better than the old M43 for performance, if not maintenance!

I suppose in comparison to my 172 which has the power of the 320 2.2 engine and weighs slightly less it felt alot slower in my defence!

I'm not brand loyal, I love cheeky hot hatches like these, love those turbine wheels.
Would never off guessed these have 170 ponies under the bonnet.
