Just managed to get an oil level sensor off an E34 525i with a cracked head,
I've just started to clean it ready to fit into the sump and found that the E34 must have been running on treacle, it's solid on the ouside of the sensor and probably worse on the inside,(no wonder the head was cracked !)
Any ideas how to clean / prepare ready for fitting ?

Baked bean can full of petrol. Keep dunking it in, let it soak, lift out and drain, then dunk it again, repeat. Change the petrol when it gets too dirty.
