No looks to be a nice project on a good spec 4 pot. Its ideal city car spec, wipe clean leathers and an auto box with a big boot.

Alex that looks like a nice base for a decent daily, it's not often a 1 owner looked after touring comes along , any chassis damage ? just panel work needed?

Just panel damage really, however upon further inspection the passanger side footwell has been bent slightly where the wheel or something has hit ite30topless wrote:Dezzy wrote:Why are you thinking of chipping all the bog out of your m3 rep?ImysE30 wrote:Get the MIG ready?![]()

its nice as it being a 1 owner vehicle all the screws and nuts are the correct ones and every bit of trim has all the clips its suppose to have, everything is fitted properly etc.
even has the original bmw radio cassette however this is coming out as the screen has started to leak.
its the first time ive seen an unused bmw fag lighter that has no wear to the logo and element like new, i dont think the ash tray has ever had anything in. headlining is lovely as he was obviously a non smoker, you can still smell the leather too

Bit of an update, progress is slow but its getting there.
Fitted a new drivers door, bonnent and ive got a decent wing for it.
ive also fitted a set of refurbished 15" BBS to it however there not pictured.
started first time yesterday after being stood with a flat battery since i bought it. its got a nice new bmw battery now. Magpie said he has never heard an m40 without a ticking noise, he thought they all did it. never heard a quiet one either

big thanks for Magpie again yesterday for removing my locking wheel nuts and dropping the bonnet off.
dont think wishbones are suppose to be like this

nice new one waiting to go on, everything else looks ok under there, think the drop link will be fooked too, tracking could be fooked, pass rack could be too needsfurther iunvestigation.

and i've never heard a proper quiet m40 until this one.
this is going to be a very good car Alex,i even like the colour

Think, perhaps,we ought to let Alex sort the rusty Tech 1 out first, then we can talk him into doing the right thing with this one!Dezzy wrote:The car is crying out for an M52 IMO.

Right, this car will be my only e30 soon, the sport will be up forsale soon. fueling the b25 is stupid with the amount of miles i do.
ive got some nice plans for this now, its going to be my only car and want it spot on.
Picked some new wheels up today. think they will look ace on this. chinese specials

ive got a quote for paint, going to get doors on passanger side painted front valance/IS lip. bonnet and both front wings painted going to cost £400 which i dont think is bad. i'am also going to get some SE skirts for it and get them colour coaded too.
got an IS lip on its way here and a new rear door should recive them this week.
i think it may need a new steering rack and after getting use to the e46 rack on the sport i will be getting one for this.
Also once ive got it up and running, i'am going to get it converted to a manual box, i'am hoping topless can sort me out with this, will fit new clutch and hydrolics naturally. also a z3 short shift with a ll new bushes, Also after having an LSD i'am going to hunt down a 4.27 or 4.45 LSD from the states later in the year.
a set of front grey leather sport seats or high backs would be nice.
got cruise control going into it. OBC, tweeters, a really good sound system.
engine wise its staying as is, i might chip it and give it a full service & cambelt change. might even stick a cammy camshaft in it for the sake of it.
the plan is to make it drive better than any other standard 318i touring on the road.
PS: magpie if you fancy some tokens for the m50 i could use a hand with changing this wishbone mallarky and getting suspension sorted

Its the best shell ive ever had.
there really isnt a single rusty mark or rot in it. and ive been round it with a fine tooth cone.
the service history and bills i have for it are mind blowing, its been looked after with a no money too much attitude.
Might be in this at this years pod
