TBH, if it wasn't for the shallow rear panel on chromies I would be rocking a standard system. Too much guts on display at the rear with stock silencer

Final parts arrived today



I say final but I still want to renew the suspension shocks and springs soon.
Just dont know what to go for atm.I'm thinking H&R cupkit or Gaz coilovers but will have to save up more pennys first.

i have my cup kit for sale jake, probably done less than 2000 miles and are as new. springs should be ok for the touring too but you may want to check on the differences between the rear springs on tourings/2 doors. comes with new front top mounts that have done the same mileage. no hurry to sell so if we agree on a price you can have them until you get the money together or i will keep them for you if you want to wait until first meet.

Got the rear powerflex arb bushes on as well which completed the renewal of every bush and ball joint.

System is bled and i have heat at the heater .Think the heaters are a bit cool but i reckon once i take the car for a run it will be fine.The fan is coming on and off but the temp gauge isnt working.(see link)

Temp gauge is sorted .
Going to get a lower degree fan switch as the fan isnt coming on until a needles width which is a bit high me thinks.

Picked this up today but i'll wait until the mot is done before i fit it

what's the deal with the e36 air box,any brackets need making etc?

i have an m30 one i was going to use.............

A bracket can be made to fit the e36 airbox (Dan has done one)
Mines is just sitting there atm but it is quite firm and i cant see it moving about much tbh.

Seem to have a problem with the revs.
They seem slow to drop and bounce around while dropping.

Any ideas where to start looking ?I was thinking tps?

Or may it be just because the car hasnt been driven and the ecu is needing to re learn.

check the idle control valve is the right way round jake. sounds like the same problem i had.

yeh it took me an hour of feckin about to get it turned. had to change all the pipework too as the inlet and outlet pipes are different sizes.

The arrow is pointing towards the the back of the inlet manifold which is correct isnt it?

Dont think so Nick.I did notice my icv is the same type as an m20 one but it worked fine in the e36

I have did away with the oil seperator so i only needed to blank one pipe if irrc.

i had to blank a couple of nipples on the the throtle body of the m50 manifold.

Sure i have blanked the nipple on the connector at the inlet but i'll check if i did the stub on the tb.
Kind of hope i have forgot.

I had forgot the stub on the t/b so have blanked that.
The revs now seem to drop as the should to 1k then take a couple of seconds to settle at 600.
Is this normal or is there something else up?.

Should the revs drop when you remove the oil filler cap like the m20 as removing it makes no difference.I'm guess they should and i still have an air leak.

Mebbies time to get the WD40 out?
just spray the all air pipes/air ways
and see if there is any difference in the revs,

it'll make your pipes nice and clean to

Was thinking the but also wondering if its because the ecu needs to rest its self as i havent driven it yet.

get it motted and take it for a thrash jake. i still think there is something else going on, took a while for me to sort out all the little niggles on mine....still doing it TBH.
