Had a minor incident with a dead Badger at 70mph last night on the way home from the guildford meet. Bang bang as it went under nothing fell off so i kept driving until i got home and looked! It was a fresh kill, but i didn't twig what it was until it was a bit too late. Not paying enough attention!

Great thats not been painted long, that will be the first bang i guess. Is it ironic that we were talking about why we don't run the alpina front spoiler unless its a show anymore. Exactly for this kind of reason! Badger would of mullered it!

That i'll be bang number two then. Bollocks. I was driving on the A31 hogs back, not the type of road to stop and check late at night. What is it with this car and road kill? I hit a suicidal fox not long after we bought it which f**ked the front wing, valance and destroyed a fog lamp.
Running like a clock apart from this, poor badger had his revenge on me!

Following on from the badger incident it appeared that after the last ring trip and 30 odd laps round there that the once happy and healthy rear subframe bushes we're indeed totally f**ked. No knocking but a a rather un nerving rear steer action when pressing on.
So while i still had Barrys tool and the success of doing the same job on the auto 2dr we had a crack at this. 2 hours both sides done. Jobbed sorted.

Old one doesn't look bad but huge movement by hand! 2001 stamped on them

Nice, snapped off mush.

Genuine bushes now £70 the pair from BMW
DanThes bush void fillers, some new big washers i found randomly and a plate with some shiney bolts in stock along with a spare plate

Thats as far as i got with it and the camera, but its all done and what an improvement! Also raised the rear end up a good 10mm. I'm thinking now its time to get the Alpina springs re powder coated up and re fitted!
Also sorted out the brake pad light system, lol. Had the clocks repaired as they had the dry solder joint. So now we have NO warning lights, fully working check control. Makes a nice difference i feel.
Had a drivers door painted up so need to collect that and get it fitted up. A powelly buffty session ready for some stripe action. Dips is repairing the spoiler.
Now all will be explained in another thread, but a decision needs to be made on this car. As another E30 has arrived at the stable which means, the wagon has to be sold OR i buy out the brother in law and take on sole ownership of it. Tough one.

You cannot sell this Si. It's irreplacable and you've said yourself, there is no classic more practical!!! I can see this with a baby seat strpped in and a pram in the back. Start the kids cutting their teeth on something cool.

Well more molesting

Swapped my 2 doors Alpina shocks out of the touring and replaced with some B6 rears.
All i can say is it rides harder, much harder. Crashy which is annoying as its more skitty which is the last word in handling. Although when the tarmac smooths out it all comes together with the new subframe bushes.

I must thank Oz for washing it with powellys bufty gear. New executive ride height

i've binned the mudflaps. it looks strangely naked now to me. But i don't think it was doing the economy good on a m-way run!

Just the rears look ok i thought though.

"Stance" keep thinking of re fitting the OE Alpina touring springs but remembered the rather high rear end like this

Mighty clean and nearly ready for the big road trip on Saturday, off to the Switzerland or Nandez in the swiss Alps. With a stop in France for an night along the way. So another notch to its road trip bed post i hope with no dramas, and i hope some good pictures and driving roads along the way! treating her to a fresh oil change to keep the mill happy as we'll being doing a fair amount of milege

/\ This is all Barry saw last night on the way home from the Ace
That old sport is always chomping at the bit!
I also tried bending the badger ding out of the valance with limited joy. It looks rather gay from behind there
