How much more of a PITA is it to do the wiring on an evo motor as opposed to the b30 motor?

Think it is pretty much the same... I have done like no car wiring before I installed the B32, and mine started on the first try. To top the cake I'm color blind as well

Ahaha, don't mean to laugh but that's kinda funny. Regardless, wasn't there something to do with like the ews or something that needed to be deleted/ modified?

Just laugh, I'm used to it since I'm retarded :P Can park on handy cap parking, color blind is a handy cap! haha!

Serious... All you need is the ECU, small black EWS box, EWS ring around the ignition, key, big EWS box. Then there is a lot of soldering this together and then it works!
I'm thinking of having my ECU flashed so I can toss away the key and that shit. It takes a lot of space above the glove box.

If the EWS was in use and not just "by passed" with the key, it would be a point in keeping it. But when it is just sitting there activated the whole time, it can also be removed.

IMHO one less thing that can go wrong.

I personally wantto remove it. Last thing I need is to have to fork over a ton of cash for a silly key and have to deal with ridiculous BMW policy. Anyone know of an ews delete thread?
... I'm sure I'll find one

PM Uwe... he'll put you in touch with a guy that will delete the EWS and give the ECU and vanos a nice re-map while your at it

We got it done on a b32 and it goes like the shit off a shovel now as there's no air-box or nothing on it spoiling the fun with a Exedy hyper single.

Personally id rather keep the EWS for my road car, extra security.
Doesnt take much wiring up and as for taking up space WTF?

Stick it to the underside, or topside if you wish, of the ECU and you wont know its there

As Dan says.. Why you'd want to delete the EWS when it can be retained easily is beyond me.

Yep, was indeed Dan. B32 was going in an M3 Compact drift car so removing the EWS was done while we were getting it re-mapped.

On a road-car, I'd want to keep it on a road car though, it's only a few extra wires and a drop in the ocean in terms of the swap as a whole.
