As some of you may know I was going to do a 2.8i conversion on my e30, first I needed to get rid of some rust, no big deal.....

Well I've found more and more, jacking points, inner f'n'r arches, inner f'n'r wings bottom of the windscreen....... need I go on?

What do you guys think I should do? Keep it and spend weeks welding or bin it and get another?

Seams a shame to bin it but with all the welding I'm afraid it just won't be sound and will die on me one day :(

Rich, I would weigh in what you have, take anything worth taking off it, strip it down and get it weighed.

This has been a lesson in where E30's rot, so have a good poke in all these areas when looking at any more.

I know of a 2dr shell which has been welded up to a good standard and is ready paint. It is in Pocklington, so handy too. It's a member on here Scott180gtb who is selling it, think it's on ebay now. Only drama is the sunroof tray has been removed.

Thing is they all need welding somewhere now, its a fact. The days of finding pukka shells with no holes is over. Unles you have some 40,000 mile cream pie that hasn't gone out in the rain.

I agree with this, infact i reckon my chromie was one of the last of the good ones.

Si the pics of the moredoor in question was well past saving. It was ripe in all of the usual places.

Weigh it and start again is the best course of action. I doubt there is one out there that wont need work or hasnt had work. Buying right is by far the best/cheapest way to go

I have just looked at your phot thread, I had that exact spec car in that colour last summer. My plan was the same as you but I kept finding rust also. Yours looks a touch better than mine was but even so I would send it to the bridge... Its a bit far gone is that one
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.
