Just nipped out to get myself a chinky, came home under the power of the RAC
The selector rod that goes to the knuckle on the gearbox has parted company, was changing down gear and the gear lever just flopped in my hand, coasted it into a layby in the middle of nowhere pitch black. Luckily had a torch and some overalls in the boot so tried to see if I could reach up and grab the knuckle to get any gear as I was only about 1.5 miles from home but could not reach, so had to call the RAC out.
They were there in 15 mins and I just told the guy to get the solid bar out and tow me home before my takeaway got cold
I suspect the circlip/ clevis pin has come off at the gearbox end of the shift rod as the other end is still attached to the shifter. Worst case scanario is the knuckle is fubar. I'll try and have a look tomorrow.

She's rolling again. Clevis pin had gone walkies from the front of the shift rod. Luckily I had a spare in my boxes of shite in the garage.
I'll get the Eibachs fitted next weekend I reckon.

May do some tacho action this weekend, hell it's only been 9 months without one
Expect a call Dan
Maybe even get the Eibachs fitted, think I'm going to keep the B6's in for a bit longer but if it still feels too bouncy/firm then they will be going down the road in favour of some B4's.
Got a pair of front wings sorted, but they will need spraying. One day the rear arches will get some attention.
Funds being diverted to the Golf at the moment, I'm just about to drop 600 sheets on a bare engine for it.

I've bought a different lump now, got a full engine box ecu, cable shift gear change etc from a breaker for £300.
Decided I'm going to go with the EFI setup from the doner car rather than keeping the k-jet setup. Fun ahead requiring fusebox change and all sorts of wiring dramas

Scrap yard sortie today, nowt there for what I need for the Golf, but there were a couple of minor bits of E30 which left in my possession. So much E36 4 pot wrongness up there.

Spent today up at the drag strip, 4 hours of shovelling & sweeping, hands blistered to buggery. Got home and thought I'd give the old girl a wash as it was covered in dust & birdshit.
So I'll whore some pics of the car because you've not seen it before have you

No, still on the AVO's, need to get some B4's for the front first.
Also, going to redo the rear end. Not happy with the finish or the stablilty of the car, am convinced I have a bent rear arm, so got a spare beam here and a pair of trailing arms from Scott I'm going to get some powdercoated goodness sorted after a blast. Dan, do you still do the camber tabs for the rear beam?
