I'm back....
been busy with doing a 318 to 2.7 conversion,
So now to get mine done ready for mot and taxing at the beginning of next month...

Will i'v p.m'd you

I'v Checked that I have +12v at the red/white wire on each injector with the ignition on. CHECK.

Checked that I have +12v at pin 3 (green wire) on each coil with ignition on. CHECK

How do i check the crank sensor is ok ?
and
how do it check the cam sensor is ok?......
without using a multi meter, I broke it

Also, what about the knock sensor, would that effect fuel getting to the plugs or the spark?

No point doing this Will, once the ECU has received the signal from the EWS module it holds it until the ignition is switched off, if you hear the module click the signal has been sent

+1. If not, test the one you have.

Should that be a stable reading??

I'm getting 880
then
1360
1140
etc etc
Getting a different reading every time i connect the multi meter..

(these are the readings from Dan's crank sensor, the one I got the other day is fooked!!, but have a Brand new one on it's way)

Also..

when the crank sensor has been unplugged for a short period of time, with ignition on, I plug it back in... fuel pump primes

Is that natural ?

^^ those readings were taken from the Cps side when it was plugged in and ignition on,
with the CPS unplugged I took a reading from the Main loom connector the CPS plugs in to,
and I was getting 970

I imagine you need to unplug the sensor before testing it mate, the extra wire could make a difference to the reading

Whooop

New crank sensor came today, slaped it in turn of the key it fired in to life

:D

But.........

Took it for a test drive, and at slow speed's it's fine,
as soon as i put my foot down, it's like a bag of sh1te,
coughing and spluttering, like it's overfuling it's self,

Pulled in to the petrol station, fuel in, paid,
jumped in the car, ,would it hell start, had to push it to the back of the station,

I was there for about 20 minutes :x
unplugged everything i could, and plugged them back in, sat and waited,
low and behold it started,
but sounded rough,
drove straight back home, put my foot down once and the same jerky, coughing, spluttering,

Put it on the drive, switched it off
and now it wont start again,
pulled a plug, no spark,
and not overly wet

**edit** it now starts again!!!

seems if i leave it for about 20 mins it will start

scratchy head smiley

Does anyone know..
Why the dash lights are staying on?
and also
why does the engine revs up to 2000 when it's first started, without touching the loud pedal?

It's still acting weird, sometimes it starts sometime it doesnt

And when it's on full chat it's still coughing spluttering jerking at about 6000
or if i stamp on the pedal.

Are you supposed to blatantly hear the injectors "clicking"
they seem quite loud to me like

Cant help but i'll be watching this with interest as mines is the same .
Mines only seems to rev to 2k when started from cold but the revs come down in stages from 1k all the time.

Cheers for that Will,

The revs are ok, i was just concerned with them revving so high on start up, hot or cold,

I changed the cluster and the lights went out, then slowly came back on,

I pulled the oil pressure connection off and it made no difference, the light just stayed on,

took it out again and it seems to drive perfectly well, untill I floor it, then it splutters and jerks,

I'v checked all hoses and the're spot on ,

going to stick It on my mates diagnostic and see what comes up,

might just need the fault codes cleared...??
