Red just makes this that bit more special!

Gold really would have been too council for the stripes!

Simon,

You are doing a great job, and all the decisions have been the right ones because they are what you want. Peoples opinions are just that. Glad you have stuck with what you like - it will look amazing when finished.

The red 325i is looking good too (apart from me not having the cash to put it outside my house!)

Keep up the great work

I would have thought gold would have worked better with the red and black mate? If you had gone for the black option silver stripes would have been the monks nutts.

Have you got a nice new silver foil Alpina/Castrol engine bay decal?

I might have one somewhere.

The chrome/silver sticker Alpina used to put in the engine bay - 'Alpina recommends Castrol' or something like that. I got it during a Buchloe visit around 10 years ago. If I can find it, it's yours.

And I've found it. along with a genuine bit of memorabilia/tat from a Buchloe newsagents.

It says (in German) 'Alpina recommends Castrol Formula RS Racing Syntec 10W-60'.
Not sure if that applies to a C2, but it sure looks nice.

very nice, very nice indeed.

gold stripes may make it look JPS, but i think they can still work better than silver. for the shelf, you can have either but get it re carpeted not died

also, colonising. the Rolls Royce trimmers local to me will be able to sort them out a treat to look as new

It stuck on the rocker cover on the top by the bracket that bolts to the inlet, if you get me. Trevor will have a picture but i'll have a dig

Cost of proper colonising isn't far off a re-trim. Unless you want to keep the original leather for some reason, I'd go re-trim every time...

Are they on a chtome film? The originals look to be kinda clear as you can see the colour of the cam cover through them although its difficult to see in the photos? Also the linage border looks a bit thinner?

How much to send us one so we can see one in the flesh? :D

Silver stripes, the same as Jotz has on his black C2 cab.

Gold is rarely a good colour for anything IMO!

Yes they are printed on a chrome film,
Image
This is the first as new sticker ive seen - which also apears chrome/foiled? I presumed they used a similar material to the E36 alpina stickers which are chrome, anyway not a bad effort, perhaps a little bright.

The clear effect you mention...i think is the effects of heat and time? they become tarnished and scrathed obviously - I don't have any pictures of it stuck to the cam cover - but when its in place and smoothed over, it takes on the slight uneven finish of the surface below.
As regards selling it, this is my only spare sorry!
