A chap I know from years back, but had no idea was a car nut, just put a few pictures of his replica Alpina 2002 up on facebook. The boys over on myE28 tell me it's pretty much the first Alpina-BMW collaboration. Anybody know more about them?

I want one..... 8O 8O 8)

there is a white with green stripes one in the UK it was imported and restored by a guy I know A4s is the model number I think, 180 bhp and lots of fun. Been sold on now and would definitely make over 25k if on the market again.

And a nice historical shot of an original Alpina 2002 in action. Kudos to the first person to identify the signature!

Dream car.

I've wanted one for years.

I was offered one for five grand a long time back. Wish I'd accepted now.

No, not a turbo - it's had some kind of modifications to the engine from standard BMW fettle but I couldn't tell you the details. The 180bhp mentioned above sounds about right. It's Alpina spec in pretty much every way possible, using original Alpina parts and was assembled by an ex-Alpina engineer. Although it's a replica, there's less difference between this and the genuine article than there would be doing a replica of a modern Alpina as back then all Alpina stuff was retro-fit. This was prior to the official BMW-Alpina connection where you get a BMW factory warranty with your Alpina car..

Cloud - this car is for sale at 30,000 euro. You really should have!
