It's a thought I can't get out of my head and sadly I had to pass up on a shell this week which was going to be ripe for some butchery, but I keep having ideas about doing an E30 equivalent of this
I'd plan on making the arches out of steel, so a grotty shell would be ideal.
I'm a drag slag, so the V12 lump I have stashed away would suffice, maybe tub the rear end with a Jag independent rear.
I think you could be walking a fine line. The car in the pic looks good and gets away with it because thats the kinda thing that was in for its time. Plus it's a smaller shell than the e30 so doesn't look hideous. But hey I'd love to be proven wrong and sometimes things that shouldn't be done can sometimes surprise people and look simply stunning.

If you have the money and the skill to build it then I say GO for it I would...I love extreme body kits as long as there based on a race car and not a street motor.
